Thank you, Greg. This lighthouse is somewhere in Maine. Unfortunately, I can't remember the exact location.

Someday I'll paint my lighthouses. The closest is only a few blocks away. You can see it here. [link] Click the Related Images link to see more. The photographer used a 300m zoom. The opposite shoreline (Fairhaven, Massachusetts) is over a mile away. With the naked eye the houses are tiny and the channel markers are small and not so close to the lighthouse.

As I look out my window right now (3:30am) I see blackness broken by a horizontal string of warm orange and gold twinkling lights. Ooh! Here comes a fishing boat. Normally at night you can't make out anything but lights on boats. I can't see the bow but the moon is up so I can see that the side is turquoise with white trim. There are lights on in the pilot house and here and there on booms or whatever. They illuminate the crest of it's wake. Very pretty watching it glide along silently in the dark.

Boy, I got carried away looking at the pictures on that guy's website. It's nearly 4am. Time for another pot of coffee.
