Here's a thing I made a long time ago. Decided to post it here. I have no idea what's going on with the walls. This was fun to make, though.In my redesign of Robot, he has some vents in his back as well. (Not as many as shown here, but still)
Again, I could totally make this better now - I've been improving at my art at a rapid rate - but I need the hiatus for now. Still felt like posting this, anyways.

I'll admit that I initially wasn't too sure about your own take on Robot's design, but it's grown on me. He still looks close enough to his canon counterpart that you can easily tell he's supposed to be Robot Jones and couldn't really be mistaken for anything else, and his bulb being less pronounced and the antenna looking different doesn't really bother me. I particularly like that you thickened (THICCened) up his neck, to make it more believable that that's supporting his quite frankly huge head, and how long and thin his "clamps" look here, which makes sense since they often end up doubling as fingers for him which he can use with the same level of dexterity as a human.
Also; somehow, I did not actually realize until now that the lines on the back of his head are meant to be vents, but it's so obvious.

I get the hesitation. I'm a pretty open-minded person when it comes to seeing other people's designs and whatnot (I mean as long as it's not something like...welll...Olga)
A big reason why I changed Robot's design the way I did (like you said, made his neck thiccer) is, obviously, to support his *head and all. I'm a super picky person when it comes to logic tbh, and it's not that I don't enjoy RJ for what it is, as it IS a cartoon - But I feel like if I'm allowed to take my own creative liberties and takes on the series (as long as I'm hopefully not harming it, Idk if I'm doing bad for the fanbase or not), my imagination is expanded.
There's actually a screenshot in the pilot when Robot is in Madman's office that confirms they're vents tbh.

I'd say that you're doing pretty good for the fanbase, honestly. Even just having someone think about the logical implications of his design and draw (for lack of a better term) cinematic shots like this where we see him in a familiar environment is a lot because normally, all we get is softcore "agender" porn.
