Research Log NGZ-14i: The Corrupt Fragment City: Datashard

This entry collates several highly significant discoveries that have been ascertained only recently. It is hard to single one discovery out and proscribe that particular entry as the most significant. For the sake of respect to their status as conscious self-aware beings, the research team has decided to defer the name of this entry to the AI of the fragment city of Datashard. This cybercity is unlike any that have been detected prior to our most recent observation and investigation. The unique nature and the immensity of the significance of its discovery can not be overstated. However, before the nature of Datashard can be fully appreciated, we must first explore the discovery and importance of the other discoveries. Other than the new fragment cities, our research has revealed what we have come to term the nullstreams and their crossing point with the normal datastreams which, we have dubbed a slashgate. This report shall cover the basic properties, functions and natures of these three discoveries and how they are thought to interact and relate to one another, the fragment cities, and the channeling of data fron the human-controlled dataspace to the glitch space beyond. In addition to these three discoveries, the nature and origin of one form of corrupt data that poses a danger to fragment cities has been revealed and will be examined in this research log.
