I have been enjoying making tutorials and putting some of my typography knowledge from last semester to the test I was asked to make tutorials on lightning and on shading, but I felt in order to grasp how I do those kinds of techniques, you need to know the basics.

Layers and Clipping Masks make up a huge part of tools I use to create my art. They are also the basics of using Photoshop for digital painting. While you certainly don't need to use them to make digital paintings in Photoshop, they make life a lot easier. Depending on feedback, I may need to make another tutorial to accompany the topics gone over in here.
