Here it is. It looks like a monster, I know. But it has large text, so don't worry!

There's a section for both static and animated icons. The icons in the "Add Media" box are usually under the category Customization > Emoticons > Chat Friendly Emotes. If you don't really want people using your moving icon as an avatar, you don't have to make sure it's under 15 kB.

As promised, here are the results of the tutorial:

About rotoscoping
In this tutorial, I manually traced each outline of Anna in all the frames. This is okay for small animations with around 10 frames, but what if you have 100 frames? It'd be awfully tedious to have to manage that many frames individually (believe me, I've tried). In that case, I'd recommend using a motion graphics program like After Effects or Mocha, which makes this kind of stuff a lot easier. As a free alternative to these, I found something called Howler .

I don't really have experience with these programs, so here's some links to people who know better.

Get GIMP here . And this is how you go about making an animation there.

Paint .NET is here . Make sure to get this plugin if you want to make animations with this.

There are plenty of other tools you can use out there, I'm sure. Googling "[program name] gifs" will usually let you know whether you can make animated icons there or not.
