A very interesting piece. Quite different to your usual stuff in terms of content but it still reflects your art style. I do like it. There's a lot going on - so much energy buzzing in this piece! - and therefore it doesn't bore you. After taking in the bigger picture, I start noticing the little details like the man standing on the block rock at the bottom.
One thing I'd say is that the dragon could stand out more by being bigger, or making the rest of the environment darker and the dragon brighter/shinier(?) You want to bring more focus on the main characters in the picture (I'm assuming the dragon and the little man).
The way you've done the gems/crystals is lovely. The colours and shading are great. But I'd say tone down on the angular edge highlights and blend them more into the crystals because they look too forced. I'd say study more pictures of crystals to help you get an idea. Also I noticed with your sneak peeks before this submission that you worked a lot on the finer details but you might have noticed now that it doesn't come out well when the whole pic is revealed in its entirety on a much larger scale. Well, I might be wrong in this instance (since I did not see you work on this piece), but it is something to be mindful of - what size is the overall picture going to be viewed at? Is it worth bothering with these intricate details if you can't even see them zoomed out? This will save you time in the long-run when painting.

The command of color is far better than mine, the sense of scale is amazing and the way each of the crystals are drawn is to be admired, however the steam from the waterfall is a little poorly done, but the sparkles coming from the dragon is the jewel in the crown of this piece, also the shading of the rocks is flawless. So far what you could work on is not using the same drawing form for steam, smoke and gasses. that would be a major improvement, and if you can somehow include shining, like light refracting off glass you see in movies, that would give this digital painting amazing looks that would make each diamond illuminate.

Yeah, the waterfall mist was a little bit of a challenge, I tried experimenting with different brushes and effects but couldn't get the right one, so I just winged it xD I want to go back on this piece and work on the weak points, so thanks for your help and advice

Aww, I wish I could, though I barely have time for dA as I used to! It sometimes takes me 3 days to respond and get through the slush pile of 70-100 messages. ;_; Though I could give you some advice on your artwork whenever I can.
Also, I would recommend checking out Feng Zhu. I watch his videos all the time, and I've learned so much about art in just under a year because of him. Some of his videos are digital paintings, but he also talks about developing your visual library, character design, and such. Wow, this piece looks so cool!! Your highlights and shadows on the crystals is spot on, and the body of the dragon is flawless. However, though the dragon seems to be the focal point, it seems a bit dark in comparison to the other crystals and the waterfall in the background. I would suggest maybe adding a spotlight over the dragon (like a place where the cave shows sunlight idk) or even just add subtle sparkles off the back of the dragon where other lights sources are. Overall this Pianting is very nice and I can see how your crystal drawing has definitely improved. Keep it up!

Yeah this piece was done around a year ago, but did some edits since then and only now remembered I was supposed to update it on dA xD I can see what you mean by the dragon, it does look dark compared to the background. Will add le highlights and better shading! I completely forgot the fundamentals and technique when doing this painting, not sure how that happens lol.
