Not sure how the fuck you did it...but you managed to capture Petra with one twisted ankle. Good for you! Levi came back with an un conscience Auruo in his arms. Petra screeched.

“Captain! Please dont tell me you hurt Auruo!” She began to sulk into my shoulder. I politely brushed her off and frowned.

“Dude, levi. You didn't knock him out right?” You asked, rubbing your ankle.

He stood there in silence for a moment. You smirked. Petra began to wail again before Levi spoke to answer.

“He ran into a tree branch. Don't worry. Here, carry him back.” Levi dropped Auruo to the ground like a rag doll. Petra ran by his side and caressed his sleeping body.

You struggled walking to the corporal.

“Hey, was that story true about Auruo running into the tree branch?” you asked, placing an arm on the corporal's shoulder for support from your even MORE busted ankle.

He turned your way and smirked.

“Tch, you ask too many questions.”

You started to giggle.

“Hey levi, we should get back before dawn. Erwin is going to be fucking pissed.”

“Tch, bushy brows, almost forgot about him. Petra, grab Auruo we're going home”

As everyone started walking, you stumbled with every step you took. The corporal slowed down for you.

“...What's taking you so long?”

“Well, you did force me to run after Petra, Im pretty sure my ankle is... how do you say “Fucked Up” in French?”

He only chuckled and lifted you up, bridal style. Your eyes widened by the swift motion. This was embarrassing.

“Y'know I could still walk...” you silently added.

++ A Few Days Later++

You removed your sheets and sneaked out into the hallway. Your ankle was healin' up so why not get some exercise to strengthen it? You were sneaking out of the infirmary where Levi specifically told you not to leave until your ankle was 10000% fixed.

“Levi nor my broken ankle could keep me away from the birch tree” you whispered, grabbing your survey corps jacket and made your way out the castle. After slowly walking to the birch tree you sat on one of the lower branches. You closed your eyes and leaned against the trunk of the tree.

“Oi, what did I tell you about leaving the infirmary?”

Your eyes bolted open and you sat yourself up. Trying to find the man who spoke. There. The corporal walked towards you. His deadpanned expression made it hard for you to come up with an excuse.

“Sorry, I just... I just really like it here.”

He smirked and took the a seat next to you. You smiled and stared up to look at the twinkling stars.

“So what did you do to Petra and Auruo?” You half heartedly asked.

“...”

“Wow that bad eh? Yikes.”

“I let them off the hook.”

Your eyes widened and you quickly turned your head to face the corporal, who was already looking at you.

“Im sorry, could you please say that again... I think I just heard YOU the corporal say YOU let them off the hook...”

“Well you heard correctly.”

You slumped your back against the tree bark.

“And why'd you do that?”

“I suppose you were right. I shouldn't destroy someone else's happiness.”

“heh, yeah and plus in a world like this it's hard to find that one special person. When you do find that one special person, you should probably spend every single moment with him or her. Who knows when we'll die right?”

He didn't say another word, but only nodded as an answer. His eyes closing. He sighed. His face was filled with sorrow. This was the only time you've actually seen the corporal with a real human emotion, other than anger.

You tried to break the tension.

“So Heichou! You're probably popular with the ladies... got anyone special to yah?” You smiled, leaning back waiting for him to answer.

He nodded, his eyes still closed.

You blinked several times before asking him one last question.

“So... who is she?”

He finally opened his eyes. Revealing his beautiful dark steel orbs. The corporal slowly looked your way and stared dead straight into your lovable (e/c) ones.
