I feel like that was the show's own censored way of tackling how kids can handle loss. Because otherwise I kept wanting to yell at the screen "hibernation doesn't work that way!" or "he's a pet, you can keep him warm and happy like all other hibernating animals that're kept indoors through winter!"

What Flutters did in that Episode was for Dash's own good. Just like in "Ain't Easy Being Breezies", Flutters had to put her hoof down for The Breezies own good. It may not look good, but it's necessary.

I always did felt that for some reason, the episode was originally meant to be about Tank actselly dying, but the writers pussied out the last minute and pulled the hybernation thing out of their butt pockets to preserve their jobs.
