Description
Got a bit of a last second Christmas commission for a Bulbasaur hoodie. Can thank Adam for the commission since he's been great working as a walking advertisement at cons.Anyway, since I was working on a tight schedule for this one I decided to take a crack at making the bulb backpack. It's all put together with a number of reinforced stitches (at least 2 on each seam) and like the original is large enough to keep the hoodie in it.
What else is also different from the last hoodie is the zipper closure for the hoodie itself and took the time to pad the little horns in the hood as well as improved on the embroidery for the eyes.
At the moment I am currently closed for all character hoodie commissions. I will be posting on my journal when I am able to take on more.

instead of the bulbasaur looking outside its bulb you should make it like a backpack you know that way if the bulb is removable we ( people wh buy it) cjust use the bulb as a backpack and the sweater and we will ( underline and bold will ) be the baddest heffers around C:

Bulbasaur is my FAVORITE Pokemon hahaha.
These look super cool. What do you use to make them and what pattern do you use for the basic hoodie? I actually want to try making something like these

The hoodie patterns I use for hoodies are actually a mix of a couple of hoodies. The bodies for mens are the unisex hooded pajama top pattern and the women's is a part of a sweat suit combo.

I think the best way to describe something as epic as this is "Awesome." Pure, unadulterated "awesome." Now I really want to learn how to sew.

Thanks alot. Sewing isn't actually too hard. I think most people these days were taught be being placed in front of a machine and just shown how to thread it. So don't think its insanely difficult to pick up the basics.

What is a good starting price for another bulbasaur hoodie without the eyes?

invader-gir In reply to Herutsuishi [2010-02-06 17:22:02 +0000 UTC]
It would depend on the specifics of what you want. Please send me a note and we can discuss exactly what it is you're looking for.

invader-gir In reply to Master-Kankuro [2010-02-01 03:54:57 +0000 UTC]
Hmmm, probably 2 days worth of work spread over 3 or 4 days. A little over 16 hours or so. Once I go going it came together faster than usual.

It is really cute with just the backpack and I purposely put in 2 smaller inside pockets in case the person it was gifted to wanted to use it for something other than storing the hoodie or putting con stuff into it.

I do a lot of gardening, so it would be fun to have a bulb backpack just for that. Are you making more?
π: 0 β©: 1
invader-gir In reply to MachaPanta [2010-01-06 23:05:39 +0000 UTC]
Normally I just do these by order since it allows for a greater level of customization per order.

MachaPanta In reply to invader-gir [2010-01-06 23:35:41 +0000 UTC]
Well, how much would it cost me to order one of these bulb backpacks?
π: 0 β©: 1
invader-gir In reply to MachaPanta [2010-01-06 23:59:06 +0000 UTC]
I'm thinking somewhere in the $40 to $50 price range depending on how many pockets and the specifics of what someone would want.

The Bulbasaur peeking out of it's own bulb is kinda creepy... Like some bizarre form of cannibalism...

I was more thinking like a turtle sticking its head out of it shell but yea I can see it as the bulb om noming on him.
