That is just a perfectly-styled wig! Being an amateur wig-styler myself, most Roxas wigs I've seen have these sharp spikes; how'd you get this one to have those bishie-perfect curls?
You also mentioned 'hand toning' in the artist's comments...how do you do that to a wig?
Thanks in advance for the advice... ^^

I started with a wig that has a slight curl to it. The most common wig to use for a spiked style is a punky which is stiff and straight for that purpose but for something like Roxas's that has a bit of a bend to the spikes it didn't quite work. I just looked for something thick that sat more naturally and let some teasing and hairspray to the job.
Hand toning is basically just taking a color darker than the base wig and coloring the roots and part of the hair while avoiding the roots. In this case the wig is a 613 color and the roots are done with a brownish yellow color that gave it that honey tone. The idea behind it is actually based off my own hair when I bleach my roots. The hair that has been bleached already turns a really light almost white color while the roots are more of a golden yellow.

Oh, I see! So then would the ever-popular Femme Fatale work as a base wig? And what do you use to apply the dye (which I'm assuming is diluted Sharpie ink or some other sort of liquid)?

Actually the top for the Femme Fatale is a skin top and kinda thin, I would look for a wig without a skin top. The Fashion 101 I was looking at after styling one into Roy Mustang and its actually pretty thick.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense, considering how rare it is to *see* an anime/video game character's scalp... xD
Funny, I never would have considered the Fashion 101 if you hadn't pointed it out to me... thanks! ^^v

NP, I wouldn't have thought it would work until I got to work with one. Its actually really thick on top. The Roni probably would have worked but theres a weird gap between the bunches of wefting.

*nod* its actually a bit looser styled in the back in case the person's head is a bit larger or smaller than the foam head I styled on. In either case they can just hit it with some hairspray and tighten the spikes to fit or leave it flipping out as is.
