Description
Lady Loki from Marvel Comics' THOR.I made her in a day.
You are looking at about six hours of work in that doll.
I was really lucky in that her face did not have to be painted/retouched at all, it was perfect as is.
Her outfit is not removable, though her faux fur coat is. Her lower arms are painted gold for gauntlets. Just above her elbow joint, I put a ring of fur, so that it hides where the elbows come unhitched.
Outfit handmade out of felt, painted with fold paint for "trim" and "texture."
Belts made of fleece.
Headdress, buckles, and beads made with that new puffy sculpey and painted gold.
Overcoat made out of fake fur in order to keep our lady warm on secret trips to Jotunheim.
Shoes are repainted Soccer Shoes from Clawdeen Wolf's School Spirits dress pack. They were painted gold and trimmed with matching fake fur.
The bait doll was a Monster High Dead Tired Cleo De Nile, but I think she makes a very fine Goddess of Trickery and Deceit.
SHE'S SO FLUFFY!
Seriously, her coat is extremely furry...and it sheds a lot. I had to lint brush her multiple times. Hopefully it is almost done with all the loose hairs.

SHE'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE!
The fur just adds a really nice layer to her personality. She's sharp and cunning, but clothed in the warm and fluffy.

wow, she came out stunning!
question, the parts that have or were made out of sculpey, were they molded onto her and then baked? o.o

Thank you!
I was very happy with the way she came out!
Well, yes and no. I molded the sculpey to fit the doll, then baked it. Then when it was still soft after it had cooled a little from the oven, I pressed them back into place so that they would not warp out of shape. Then, when they had cooled again, I pained them and glued them on, so the doll didn't go into the oven...only her headdress, coins, and, ahem, chestplate.

you're welcome ^^
ah, I see
I've been thinking of buying another Holt Hyde and maybe customizing him into another character, but the hardest part's going to be the hair and I'm not sure if i'll use the sculpey since it might mean having to bake it with the head still attached (dont know how most people do it)

Apparently you can bake dolls according to a forum I checked, but it has to be 250 F or less and for no longer than ten minutes and it can't touch anything metal in the oven.
I was too scared to try XD
I'm trying to figure out how to get my spare Holt to have a light in his head XD

The LIV wigs are what I've used for most of my other customs and I am very happy with them. I have never had them fall off since they fit so snugly once you snip off the little plug in the top of the wig.

The Grell custom I did started life as a Gloom Beach Jackson...and I've never had problems with his wig XD
Ohh..what are you going to make?

I remember that one. He looks awesome XD
it's MH OC i'm working on. Got his picture almost done (but I'll be posted on my second account [link] ). He's supposed to be the son of Raziel (from the game Soul Reaver), so his skin tone is sort of bluish like Holt's.

Thanks! He actually took longer than Lady Loki XD It was all the little things like the skulls, the glasses chain, the glasses, the bowtie...stuff like that.
Nifty! Yeah, I would definitely use the already blue doll for that. Convenient that they actually make one like you need!
I had to paint m Darkstar grey XD

damn, yeah those details are small but important @_o
yeah very convenient, i only wish taking off the plastic hair weren't so hard LOL
painting them takes longer right?

invader-hime In reply to LoKiRaseNgAn [2011-08-20 04:24:10 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, they are. Loki just had a couple little things.
Could you maybe just sand it/trim it down? That way, you don't have to remove all the hair plastic and the wig has something to "hold on to."
WAY. You have to give it a lot of coats and seal it...and wait for it to dry in between...and if they chip (and they DO), you need to give them touch ups. XD

hmm, trimming it might do the trick... i'll try it.
ack, I wish they didnt chip =_=
