Description
It wasn't a different morning other than packing my things for the trip to the planet I was assigned to destroy. Ray helped me with my packing along with my best friend Gryphon, or Griff as I'd like to call him. I settled a box into the back of my somewhat large Voot cruiser with a bluish silver tint to its colouring. I sighed as Gryphon placed a larger box beside mine.
"Meg, why are you so sad? It's great that you were picked for another destroying of a planet, those fucking Tallest of ours should have let you go an more than just crappy missions like invading. You're the best Elite I know."
I chuckled knowing that he hated the Tallest for not giving me more chances at world conquering but I was happy with what I got, or that's at least what I thought. "I know I'm the best, and yeah the Tallest don't give me enough credit but I just don't feel right about this particular mission."
"What do you mean?" he asked becoming worried as I could see in his mismatched eyes.
"It's just it seems odd to have to leave so early." His expression softened.
"That's good."
"You are way too overprotective of me, Griff." I smirked plucking another box from the garage floor. The large computer screen showed a bar that was filling up green signaling it was still downloading the plot of our course.
I walked heaving the box toward the ship when Gryphon grabbed my arms pulling me closer. I dropped the box which Ray now collected and threw into the trunk of my Voot. I took in a sharp breath as he pressed his lips against mine. I rolled my eyes back in confusion to what had just happened. He released my arms since he could feel my stress. "I'm sorry," he whispered.
"For what, the kiss?" I asked with a thin smile.
He nodded, "And also for not being with you more."
"That wasn't your fault!"
"Yes it was!" he screamed that scared me a little. He relaxed and gazed into my eyes as I did the same. "If it wasn't for me you would have ended up in the infirmary for months on end." His words shook like they were caught in an earthquake. I knew he wanted to cry as he did when I was nearly killed, but he was stronger than emotions that I was certain of. "You were out cold for days. If I was there you wouldn't have been in that bed."
"But if you were there, then you would have been in the bed, and I would be breaking down inside." I told him softly touching his pale cheek. His own hand took mine, pressing it down harder. "I wouldn't be able to take the sight of you as you did to me. But I am here and well."
"But Meg, what if something happens to you and I'm not there?"
"Hush," I breathed sweetly. "You may come and keep an eye on me if you wish, but remember we are still just friends, not until I'm certain we are meant to be together. Alright?" I took my hand off his cheek but he still held it tightly.
"Very well, but one more for good luck?" he asked.
I nodded as he again brushed his lips against mine but this time it was longer and I let my eyes close as I kissed back. It would have been forever before we stopped kissing but my SIR became impatient and tugged on my cape. "It is time to leave, Mistress." He said hands behind his back.
"Very well." I said punching Gryphon playfully in the shoulder and climbed into the Voot cruiser. Ray and Gryphon also climbed in and with push of some buttons we were off through the stars for weeks on end.
