Description
As some of you may already know, the sequel to Monsters Inc has officially been declared a prequel, titled Monsters University. It will focus on Sulley's and Mike's studies at the "University of Fear", where they start off as rivals but soon become best friends.
This is the official Monsters University logo.
The director of Monsters University has also been announced
The director will be Dan Scanlon, who also co-directed Mater and the Ghostlight.
Unfortunately, the tentative release date has been moved up from November 2, 2012 to June 21, 2013
No official word yet on wheather Randall will return... but let's keep our fingers crossed

I've waited for this since the last scene when I saw it in the theaters! But a prequel?! *Sigh* I wanted to see Boo a little older or something...I just can't see Sully and Mike starting as rivals...It just sounds so...weird

Ya the last time I watched musters Inc was.....last night on ABC Family lol... scratch that-last time I was wondering when their would be a second was about two months ago ...than that very next day I saw this post and I was like "...that answered my wondering ^^"

I can't understand what's the point in making a prequel. Are there so many people who are interested in seeing a pre-story? There will definitely be no Boo. It's likely that Randall will appear (if he will) as an antagonist once again, suffering a defeat in the end; there is very little chance that he will have any other role.
All in all, guess I'm disappointed

Yeah, but none of the movie websites list Steve Buscemi as a voice actor in Monsters University, so... I can't say his return is DEFINITE

Actually, I did see ONE source saying Buscemi would be reprised. And even if not, it doesn't necessarily mean Randall won't be in it.
