Fun fact, in highschool I was obsessed - OBSESSED - with the Grinch, the Jim Carrey version, so much so that my AOL handle was GrinchGirlSam, I sh*t you not. So it was with very little surprise that I fell absolutely in love all over again with the new version. And looking back now, I prefer the new version - it's less in-your-face-gross and more, 'here's a guy dealing with crippling social anxiety stemming from childhood trauma' and I LOVE it. LOVE. IT. So much so that I both drew art AND started writing about these characters. I haven't been this inspired in AGES and it feels wonderful.
