Chapter Six: Ignoring the Basic Truths

“You’re lucky we were able to escape the club before the authorities showed up. Do you know how close we were to getting caught?” Sirra frowned at her lover who leaned against the wall in a narrow dark alley way, one hand over his chest trying to catch his breath.
Kaiser had tuned out Sirra’s fussing in order to calm himself down. His nerves were more than frayed and he had been too active before he was truly able to.
Sirra’s expression softened and she heaved a sigh. “You can’t just do that, Kaisy. You’re not strong enough to wage a full blown out war against Sideos.”
Kaiser coughed a bit and his eye twitched in anger as he stared at the wall opposite of him. He felt like hitting it. Showing the tiniest bit of weakness to Sideos made his blood boil. Thinking about it made the blue-eyed Irken feel pathetic. Not only because Kaiser still couldn’t beat him, but also because Sideos had reminded him of that absurd word that was love.
Kaiser growled at the mere mention at it. Love was a weakness, and as he had previously thought, there was no possible way for him to love Sirra. None. Nope. Kaiser refused to let his thoughts wander.
“—get to you, you know that’s what he wants anyway.” Kaiser looked back to Sirra just as Sirra glanced down at the ally-way cobblestone, slight frown still on her lips. She couldn’t explain it, but she knew that trying to get Kaiser to feel better about anything Sideos had said or done was useless. “…common, Kai.” Sirra stood on her tip toes and faced Kaiser to straighten his jacket which was slightly askew. “We should probably move on to try and find these idiots…”
Kaiser looked down at her, expressionless. It was the little moments, like the one that the two were in at the moment, that made both psychopaths wonder about the nature of their relationship.
Kaiser felt the strange urge to kiss her and tilted her chin up to do so, but hesitated at an odd sound.
Sirra blinked and moved back a bit, “What, Kai?”
Kaiser held a finger to his lips and his eyes darted to his right.
It was a sound he had heard primarily during the escape at Seven. The slurping of a thick liquid, the sound of something hungrily tearing away at something, the rusty growl of someone feasting on skin. His eyes narrowed. They were most certainly not alone.
Sirra’s antennae perked up as she heard the sound and she went to gasp loudly, however, Kaiser foresaw this and covered her mouth, leaning towards the sound.
Sirra squinted and made out a form, no, two. Maybe three…it had to be five forms in the dark alleyway further down than she and Kaiser. Three forms were motionless, and she could clearly see two moving, groping for flesh that had yet to be feasted on. Sirra had to growl. It was them. The copy cats.
Kaiser inhaled deeply once he had made out the forms as well and he straightened up, pulling Sirra closer to him to avoid being spotted themselves.
Sirra knew that Kaiser was brewing up some crazy plan to sneak up on the two. Some crazy plan to…Sirra got distracted when she noticed that Kaiser had never really held her this close before without trying to cause her pain. Pain was a beautiful thing, but Sirra had to admit that being really held for the first time wasn’t all that bad. In fact, it was nice.
Kaiser’s scent was a mix of alcohol, the stench of chemicals and the subtle smell of blood. In addition, to it all being familiar things, it was comforting simply because it was Kaiser’s scent. Sirra allowed her claws to curl around Kaiser’s shoulders and she closed her eyes, forgetting for a moment that there was anything to worry about at all.
“…are you going to fall asleep?” Kaiser asked in a monotone voice which snapped Sirra back to reality. She jumped back and let a surprised sound fall from her lips.
Kaiser’s head jerked towards the two dark forms who had looked up. Sirra slowly looked to the two moving forms as well and mentally cursed herself for spazzing out.
Partially because she wanted Kaiser to not even think twice about what she had done and partially because now she and Kaiser had been spotted there was no hiding now, Sirra took off towards the forms, who had dropped the limbs in their hands and had jumped up and were running down the alleyway.
Kaiser uttered a curse and stormed after Sirra. He couldn’t figure out why the hell she had freaked out. Whatever the reason, he found it unlike her. Sirra was more of the type to keep her cool while Kaiser himself was the type to loose his cool easily.
“SIRRA! STOP RUNNING.” He commanded the red eyed Irken, slowing his pace a bit, and as if that had been the magic word, all three figures halted.
Sirra spun around to look at him, and he could swear she was glaring at him through the darkness. She straightened her posture and refocused her glare to the two frozen figures.
“SIRRA?!” A female voice came from the slimmer figure with navy eyes shimmering in the moons’ light.
“SIRRA AND KAISER?!” The other figure had straightened up, his eyes narrowing. They were a deep scarlet, and immediately, Sirra recognized the color. It was the pair that she and Kaiser had seen walking into the night club.
Sirra glance up at Kaiser in time to see him sneer. He took a regal posture and Sirra could feel him tense, the same stance he seemed to take whenever someone had annoyed him and he was about to kill them. FINALLY, Kaiser had come to his senses and realized EXACTLY what they were dealing with. Took him long enough!
“Well, well, well, look what we have here, Sirra…” Kaiser observed the two with slits for eyes. He certainly wasn’t happy for a number of reasons, all boiling down to the fact that he was wrong.
Undeniably, the idea that Sideos had something to do with the killings was forcibly thrown from the equation. Just by looking at the two, Kaiser knew that Sideos wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of minions to get his work done. It was like there was a silent code that the two had, and sending minions after one another was out of the question.
“OH, Dearest, it’s ACTUALLY Kaiser and Sirra! We LOVED your mass murder at the store on that planet precisely 39 days ago! It was simply magic! That was one way to start a vacation with a bang, I’ll say!” The female voice spoke annoyingly. Kaiser ignored her, though Sirra frowned slightly, looking at the feminine figure with disgust.
“Tell me exactly why you’re wearing clothes nearly identical to mine? This is my wardrobe, I didn’t ask you to go and steal it.” Kaiser breathed, his voice unsteady with anger.
“No one can pull of Kaisy’s style better than Kaisy anyway! How dare you even try to imitate it.” Sirra’s eyes flashed dangerously. No one could even come close to rivaling Kaiser and his talents. For a split second, Sirra flinched at the fact that the thought that made her so angry had to do with Kaiser being ripped off and not herself. Her mouth twisted into a snarl.
“Because we’re your biggest fans. Isn’t that right, Kira?” The female squeaked, looking over to her partner in crime. “Why on Irk would we NOT want to compliment Irk’s most famous couple?”
Kaiser was taken aback and Sirra could tell. She glanced up to him and read his horrified and repulsed expression. She couldn’t tell if it was from the fact that the female had called them a ‘couple’ or from the fact that Kaiser actually had fans and wasn’t expecting it.
“Compliment?” Sirra folded her arms across her chest, frowning, her gaze lingering on Kaiser for only a moment before returning to the two people in front of them.. “What the hell…don’t most people fear but respect killers like Kai and me instead—!”
“--of running around copying the art that the killer has mastered and marked as his own itself?” Kaiser finished for Sirra. It sounded much smarter when Kaiser said it.
“You surprise me, Lieutenant General. I could have sworn that before you started blindly pointing fingers you would have asked us if we were the people who were really ‘imitating’ your work.” The Irken that the female had called ‘Kira’ spoke, and by the sound of his voice, he was trying to be much more regal than he was. It made Sirra’s blood boil. He couldn’t just try and take Kaiser’s image…
Kaiser’s eyes narrowed further. “I suppose I don’t have to ask. I can tell, no other idiotic lowlife would prance around in clothes like mine, trying to keep antennae meat down as if it were a task. You disgust me. So drop your act. You’re already good as dead.”
“Dead?! No, no! Can’t you see?”
“Sizy, hush.” Kira hissed to the female, but Sizy shook her head. It seemed like she was preparing to plead.
“We only meant to compliment you! Honestly, we’re part of a huge fan base supporting your method and tactics of murder!”
Kaiser’s attitude seemed to turn almost immediately after the words ‘fan base’.
“‘Fan base’, you say?” Kaiser’s voice raised, showing interest. Kaiser was still bent on killing the two fans, but first, he was wanting to know if he was more popular than Sideos. Everything between Sideos and Kaiser was a contest, after all.
“Yes, of course, all of the best killers have a fan base…it’s all linked…” Sizy trailed off, sounding nervous, especially as Kaiser’s expression soured.
“That means SIDEOS HAS A FAN BASE! VERDAMMEN SIE, SIDEOS! VERDAMMEN SIEEE!” Kaiser kicked the wall to his left, causing Sirra, Sizy and Kira to stare at him as he murmured curses in the Irken North Eastern dialect, the toe of his boot making soft scraping noises as it hit the cement of the wall.
“…Well, without FURTHER DELAY having to do with discussing about fans…” Sirra began, slightly annoyed at Kaiser’s outburst, pulled a long looking knife out of her boot. “I’d like to get right down to the slaughtering.”
“But we couldn’t have done anything to deserve a slaughter! KIRA, HELP!”
“There’s a mistake. These can’t be the real Sirra and Kaiser anyway, Sizy. There’s no need to worry.”
Kaiser stopped kicking the wall and his head raised.
    “Why not, Kira?”
“Well, it’s obvious, isn’t it, Sizy?” Kira chuckled.
Sirra stared in awe, frozen in mid-battle stance, dumbfounded that anyone would doubt who she and Kaiser were and say that it was obvious.
“Do you really think that the real Kaiser would be this ridiculously sensitive? He’s a Lieutenant General and yet, this Irken claiming to be him is kicking the wall like a spoiled smeet. Not to mention…” Kira’s gaze shifted to Sirra. “THIS Irken claiming to be Sirra…she can’t light a candle to the girl that was advertised in the papers as a psychotic killer.”
    It was if time stopped.
Who moved first, it was impossible to tell, but in the blink of an eye, both Kaiser and Sirra had attacked Kira and pinned him to the ground, brandishing weapons at his throat. Sizy had moved back, navy eyes wide and staring.
Kaiser shoved Sirra to the side, more roughly than he had intended, shoving the nose of the gun into the crook of Kira’s neck, and hissing in his native tongue, “Ich wage Sie, solche Lügen über meine horigkeit kätzchen zu sagen, WAGE ICH SIE, SIE WIEDER ZU SAGEN!”
Sirra growled, angry that Kaiser had flung her aside, and confused as to why. She supported herself on an elbow, gripping the knife tight in her hand so that her knuckles turned pale. She had no idea what Kaiser was saying, though she did pick up the phrase, ‘kätzchen’ which he frequently called her. For a moment she was confused. Kaiser was talking about her?
She shook her head quickly; she figured it meant something like ‘partner’ or something. It couldn’t mean anything other than that, she knew Kaiser only considered her the way she considered him.
    Just a partner…
She turned her attention back to more pressing matters. “I AM the real Sirra! And he,” she nodded to Kaiser, “Is the REAL Kaiser!” She snarled, “And we’re BOTH none to happy about the way you’ve been ripping us off with your shabby killings as of late.”
Kira’s eyes widened as the realization that he was dealing with the real Killer Couple sunk into his mind.
“Oh… crap.” He breathed out, all colour quickly draining from his face. “I’m… I’m… I’m sorry…”
“Oh you will be,” Kaiser growled out, his eyes twitching in pure rage, “You insulted my horigkeit kätzchen!”
“And you also insulted my Kaipetshe!” Sirra barked.
Kaiser suddenly turned to Sirra, a sudden smile wiping away his anger. “It’s ‘peitsche’ mein liebling.”
Sirra blinked at Kaiser, “Oh…” she turned back to Kira, growling again, “Either way, you’re dead meat, you and you’re completely ugly, not-like-me girlfriend.”
Sirra looked over her shoulder to lock her eyes onto Sizy. “You hear me! You’re next, bitch!”
Sizy was completely frozen, her idols where about to kill her loved one before turning their blades onto her. She knew she had to get out of here, maybe get some help. She didn’t care if she was locked up, she was too afraid of death by the hands of her hero’s to stay a moment longer.
She turned and ran, screaming as she went.
“Sirra! Get her!” Kaiser ordered, “I’ll take care of this fool by myself.”
Sirra nodded and jumped up, turning and running at top speed towards her target.
However, Sizy had quite the head start on Sirra, and, much to Sirra’s grudging annoyance, she was quickly getting away from her. Jumping over garbage cans and dodging around dark shadowy corners.
If she wasn’t screaming so much, Sirra was sure she might have lost her by now.
Sizy was so scared she couldn’t think, she could only run and run and run. She realized now what a fool she’d been to copy people like Kaiser and Sirra. She was nothing to them, a worm. Nothing but a worthless worm. She wasn’t an experienced killer or a born natural psychopath like they clearly where.
She was just a scared girl running for her life.
Behind her, Sirra could tell the girl was faltering, running on blind fear. The killer’s mind raced to think of how she could use this for her own advantage, but so far nothing was coming to mind.
She had no other choice… she’d have to try and throw her knife and hope it hit her.
Good thing she had her knife on her, bad thing she was a bad knife thrower. Not only that, she was running, almost out of breath, and it was dark. She cursed herself for such bad luck.
Holding the knife above her shoulder she took aim and the girl running and dodging and screaming just a few feet thought the night in front of her.
Sirra narrowed her eyes and focused. She could feel the cold night air on her face, the metal held between her fingers, the floor beneath her crunch slightly as her boots echoed from the cement.
Then, suddenly, as the world slowed to a crawl, she saw the perfect chance, and even before she blinked she knew the knife had already been released from her fingers, her arm already taking the one chance to catch her enemy.
    A scream pierced the night.
Sirra grinned as Sizy fell in front of her, the blade sticking from her right shoulder blade.
The foolish poser-killer hit the ground, hard, and immediately her back filled with pain and the warmth of her own blood.
She tried to crawl, to continue getting away; she could hear the voices of people in a street only a corner away. But a slim boot came down across her vision, and she looked up to see Sirra grinning down at her, albeit panting heavily.
“There can only be one killer couple,” Sirra grinned wider, her teeth flashing in the blackness, “And that’s only me and my Kaiser.”
The girl screamed in pain as Sirra wrenched the knife from her back, however, in her final moments, Sizy manage to turn onto her side and look up to Sirra, her eyes wide.
“I’m sorry…” She blinked her eyes shut as tears fell down her face, “We only wanted to copy you because you seemed to perfect together… so happy… so in love…”
Sirra froze as the word hit her. Love. She found her heart almost tearing itself apart in her own chest and she was shaking.
“We’re… we’re not in love… we can’t love.” Sirra spoke quietly, almost forcing the words out. “We… don’t… love… each other…”
Sizy’s eyes opened slightly, then widened immensely as they caught Sirra’s look. “… oh, I see…” A tiny smile appeared, “If you say so.”
At that, Sirra grabbed the knife with two hands and jammed it down, stabbing right into the female’s chest. She couldn’t stop herself; she began stabbing more and more, ripping the girl to pieces.
Her teeth gritted in anger and her eyes narrowed in pure hate, “SHUT UP! SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP!”
She didn’t know how long she kept this up; it wasn’t until a voice reached her antennae that she stopped.
“Sirra?” Her head immediately snapped to see Kaiser standing a few feet away, an odd look of concern on his face.
Sirra suddenly jumped up from her crouching position over the former body if Sizy and, without much thought, jumped into Kaiser, grabbing him tightly.
Kaiser was immediately taken aback and instantly put his arms around his lover’s shoulders, something that made Sirra leap for joy inside and yet simultaneously calmed her down in seconds flat.
Kaiser felt an odd amount of worry within him, a kind of worry that he only felt whenever he saw even a seconds worth of concern cross Sirra’s face. He feared for her safety, her well being, for her… everything. The idea of his horigkeit kätzchen being in the tiniest bit of trouble caused a feeling of rage and terror he’d never really felt before, not for anyone else.
His arms tightened around Sirra’s shoulders. “What’s wrong mein liebling?”
“Just… nothing,” Sirra let go and looked down before meeting her concerned Kaipetshe’s eyes, “Just… it’s been a long night and I’m tired, that’s all.”
“Agreed,” He nodded, “Let’s make our way back home before anyone else arrives.”
The two walked out of the alleyway, after Sirra had brushed away the majority of the blood on her and Kaiser had lent her his coat to hide the stains, smiling and finally content with the way their lives together where going.
Their imitators had gone, Kaiser was back to full health and even Sideos was out of the way for a while at least.
As the two got into their Voot, Sirra smiled and looked out the window. She really was a lucky, lucky girl to be with Kaiser.
However, for a split second, she thought she saw someone in the crowds of people. A male Irken, wearing all black, almost invisible against the night, looking directly at her…
She felt a sudden cold, ominous chill run down her spine. Something about that Irken wasn’t right… something bad that she couldn’t quite define.
She blinked and he was gone. Sirra frowned and narrowed her gaze, trying to find him again.
She blinked as Kaiser started the Voot up, and began raising the vehicle from the ground.
She really must be getting tired, but even as she snuggled deeper in Kaiser’s big warm coat, she couldn’t shake that feeling like she was being watched somehow.
Kaiser smiled as he saw Sirra yawn and her eyes droop. “Guten Nacht, meine horigkeit kätzchen.”

Man that'd be like being killed by JV for liking IZ XD how horrible. I like how morbidly tragic you made it by having Sizy get killed so close to safety. That was one odd thing, was it Sizy that grinned before she was killed? What was with that? Did she think she was going to change Sirra's mind or something?

Oh also um, I looked at a German translator and it couldn't translate "horigkeit kätzchen" or "liebling?" How come?

Well great chapter anyway. Kinda cool how we never got to see how the guy got killed, nice mystery there.

I can give you the translations: Liebling is darling and horigkeit Katzchen is bondage kitten. Little nicknames is all!

Oh, it was that Sirra was all in denial and Sizy was like "it's SOOO obvious you loooove the Kaiser."

Ahem... Horigkeit Katzchen means "bondage kitten" and liebing means "darling" or "dearest."

And thanks!
