Life story

Describe their childhood (newborn - age 10): Ril was born with millions of other young 'seedlings' on Ensurian. Survived the elements and nature to grow into adulthood.

Teenage years (11 - 19): Ril moved across the planet, growing plants and tending to the ecosystem for many years before deciding to move off world and see the galaxy, as well as tending to other worlds and 'seeding' them with the Living One. The Living One being the massive 'mother plant' which all Ensurians are born from. Ensurian is seen from above to be a massive network of forests, jungles, deserts, farms and mountains, but upon closer inspection, it is all one massive plant with the Ensurians being sentiant avatars of the plant. Other natural life exists, the usual mix of pray-predators, but they are not connected to the plant life and the Ensurians pay them little head, neither hunting them for food or keeping them as pets.
Ril was hired by the Irken food production company 'Mega-Mart' to oversee agriculture worlds and monitor food production, a popular employment role for Ensurians.

Adult years (20+): Not year reached. When Ril does enter his 'elder stage' he will return to Ensurian or a favoured planet of his choice and move to one spot in direct contact with the sun. There over a number of years he will slowly become 'tree-ish' and plant roots, which will eventually spread and grow into more Ensurian's.
This practice is legal within the Empire, but only on selected planets with little or no life in order to encourage natural terraforming.

The Ensurian Race: No true history recorded, knowledge passed down through genetics. They have a simple, one-track mindset of following basic urges and communicate to each other with subtle movements, sounds and scents, making it impossible for any Non-Ensurian to understand. Whilst they show the intelligence to learn far more complex ideas, they mostly refuse to do so, sticking rigidly to what they know. There are no families, as new seedlings are born when the Ensurian's shed their seeds in a mass gathering, pollinating one another and transferring fertilised seeds into 'pods' which grow from the ground until the seedling within 'hatches' out.
They feel all the basic emotions, but at a lessened degree, the only strong feelings being alarm at danger and love at pollination. They do get jealous, prideful, happy and sad like other races, but these emotions often pass quickly.
Most interestingly, the Ensurian have shown remarkable adaptive abilities, often changing to match their environments within months. They cannot however survive in dark places, or within space and when travelling on ships, they will go into a self-forced hibernation under the brightest spots they can find.
They have also shown an ability to mate and produce offspring with other alien races, as long as they possess DNA-based blood. These offspring however appear identical to the alien species the Ensurian chose to mate with, with some subtle differences, notably a greater need to intake water, be within bright places and the Ensurian lack of strong emotions other than hate and love.

Final Notes: The Ensurian ability to mate and adapt to Irken and other races, has been an essential note in cloning technology, and their natural affinity to work on agriculture and peaceful nature have made them the 'farmers' of the Empire. 80% of all food production comes from the hands of Ensurian workers, who are quite happy to live within the Empire, posing no threat of rebellion or dissidence except in very rare cases.
