Description
Earth's horizon had changed. What was once the proud structure of the Supreme Court building was now a great building stretching into the sky… just like all buildings on Neo-Washington. It was only through sheer force of the human's language that the name had stuck, English being remarkably close to the irken's pronunciation of their own language. The human's had kept the name, the irkens had changed everything else. Zim had been right, but not in the way he had presumed. The Empire had arrived and within a day the Earth had been conquered… but so had Zim. He had been deemed defective and useless and had been executed.
Everything he had worked for had come to nothing, the humans were not exterminated, nor was the earth destroyed. It had been deemed a planet worthy of transformation and redefinition, and the human race labelled too dangerous to be given citizenship, but too valuable to destroy. Earth was now a planet of business and bureaucracy, with our weather modified to let them walk our streets and drink our water without fear of harm.
We would learn our place under the harsh rule of the Empire. We had become serfs under their system. Paid slaves. Their conquest would not be in land, but in brainwashing, absorbing of the human race into their system. They would make us soft, weak and forgetful. Their language was put above ours on street signs. Their history was taught in our schools. We learned of the glorious Empire and the might of the irken race whilst our own accomplishments, our own history of glory and struggle and the pride of humanity in all its flaws and beauty were nothing but a footnote.
Their culture would smother ours until we knew nothing other than life under their flag, and eventually, we would be accepted as citizens, another conquered race becoming nothing but irkens in alien skins.
But there was one who would not bow down. One who would not allow his people to forget the strength of their hearts.
Neo-Washington was a Hive-City, as all major cities across the earth now were. The countryside was a wasteland other than the weather modifiers and mass solar power plants, some of which covered hundreds of miles like mechanical flowers in some mass field.
The night grew dark and the shadows long. The one good thing about having buildings, sticking like dragons teeth from the ground reaching up like the spines of mountains was that you could get amazing cover in the darkness.
Indeed, even now a shape rested in the growing shade. He was like a spirit, a black shadow that had come alive. All one could see, peering out the darkness were a pair of demonic red eyes.
The sun finally set, and the demon moved. He stood up, the shadows covering him, and held out his arm. A small grappling hook shot out of it, hitting the side of the building. He leapt, for a moment, gliding in the air, than suddenly falling towards the building before him like some kind of great bat.
He slammed through the window, glass shattering everywhere. Immediately alarms went off, the windows closed down with laser proof metal, shutting the intruder inside. He showed no signs of even noticing.
He darted through the bright corridors of the building, now clearly visible. He had a great black cape around him, and a strange, body fitting suit with an oddly jagged helmet. No inch of his skin was shown, just that void-black that let him hide in shadow and darkness.
He could already hear the irken guards approaching. Humans had yet earned the right to be allowed weapons, you had to be citizens for that. But than again, this particular human wasn't one to abide by imperial law.
He reached the main office and looked up, just as a door on the far side burst open and five irken guards flooded the room, armed with low calibre laser rifles and basic armour. They were still waiting for the police response, which the infiltrator estimated would arrive within the next ten minutes.
More than enough time.
He set a small device on the side of a shut down computer and stood up, allowing the guards to see him.
"YOU! FREEZE!" They spoke irken, but the human replied in his native language.
"No." He then pressed a small button on his left palm, and in one swift move, every light illuminating the floor exploded in a shower of sparks and fire.
"EMP!" One of the guards shouted, "STOP HIM!"
The shadow had already moved, darting through the black like some horrible demon, rushing at the guards. By the time they had turned their flashlights on, he was upon them.
Over the com-chatter, other guards rushing through the building to their point could hear them, screaming in pain and the crunching of bones. They knew who this attacker was, and they feared him.
By the time they had gotten to the floor, he was long gone. Their flashlights revealing irkens broken, bruised, but still alive.
One which was still conscious could only pant out, "The Demon… The Demon…"
The Demon himself was outside, just under the window and from under his mask he smiled as they discovered the company secrets had been stolen and than completely deleted from the system with only a single note left.
'The Demon does not forget.'

OoOoh, quick, short but easily explains the story in this universe like a trailer or teaser of something bigger
Neat work

This is pretty cool. Yes, I agree that the Irkens would most likely want to conquer rather than destroy, but they would probably want some of the things Earth has to offer. There's raw minerals and ores, there's plant and animal species a scientist would go nuts for, and there's waffles!
Also, spiders. *Nods*
But I'm pretty sure the Irkens wouldn't want to conquer Earth mostly because it's not a tactical advantage. It's far out of the way, (they didn't even know there was a planet there!) and it's mostly covered in water, which means any plant and animal species it yields are dependent on that element. So the planets they want to conquer must have a tactical element for their Empire, as well as having some resources they could use.

Indeed, we're pretty rich in life when it comes down to it. Also, whilst we're out the way, we're worth getting. Like I said in the fic, our atmosphere can be changed and 'diluted' almost. It's said on the show that Zim doesn't have a problem with water, just the pollution in the water.
And the tactical element here would be the humans themselves. A race of tall, strong, intelligent, warlike and industrious people ready for the taking? Yeah I'd conquer them too.

About the water: But on the commentary, Jhonen said it was because a thin layer of paste had fused to his skin, hence the reason why only polluted water hurts him. (People always seem confused about this, it's really quite simple once you listen to them!)
It would seriously have to be in their plans for conquest, though. They've already got a war strategy, and they can't be going so far out of their way just to conquer one little planet! Besides, humans aren't THAT intelligent, and they still don't have their own space colonies yet! But we DO make good slaves. We're good at adapting, if not a little skittish most of the time. We're...more like sheep.
But what I think I'd really like to see is your humans in your IZ universe. You seem to have the interesting story, and it's looking really interesting.

This is almost like District9 switched around. PRAWNS totally PWNING everyone and here it's the Irkens. But one guy won't take the heat. I do believe it's more of a Bat-manesque Dib. The Jagged helmet was a huge giveaway.
I really do like it like this, I wonder how old he is? Like what College age kid? At least that's what I thought. I think he'd be taller now.
Wow great story! I like your short style here. Very concise, to the point and very informative. Great work m'friend.

Thanks! And you think? I was gonna include he was Dib's son or something, but whatever.
And no idea! Erm... my age? Probably my age, but his suit was supposed to be more like the Batman Beyond suit but with a cape.
I'm gonna write another one soon FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES.
