Hello and thank you so much for this tutorial!

The dress up game of mine works now, but there are two weird problems. First, I can't type } and { to the script unless I copy and paste the whole code. And second, the Flash keeps throwing error on my face; it says the release and such in the script are only for buttons. But well, it still works, so it can't be a very big problem.. just confuses me.

you may have the wrong version of flash, this tutorial is old, and the script is old, and what dressup games are about now is clicking various buttons, id do a tutorial, but it will take too much valubal time off my hands.

It's not working for me... When I press CTRL+F8 it makes it a movie clip and all... but then my image isn't there anymore unless I go back to the scenes or library. :/

keep on one symbol, its either that or your using the wrong version of flash.

Ok, draw something... anything and make it into a movie clip... Click the movie clip, open up the actions panel and copy and paste ALL of this code..

on (press) {
startDrag ("");
}
on (release) {
stopDrag ();
}

Ok, now press CTRL and Enter to test your movie! I maybe making a super easy tutorial cause i think quite a few people are having problems with this... If your still having problems, hang tight for a super easy tutorial...

When you try and drag that play system it moves down to the bottom right hand corner. I think this may be because of the code.

I think you might have a problem with the constriction values. Just read this and it should help.

startDrag(target,[true ,left ,top ,right,bottom])

Where left, top, right, bottom Values relative to the coordinates of the movie clip's parent that specify a constraint rectangle for the movie clip. These parameters are optional.

This is taken straight from flashs dictionary help. It should fix the problem.

I myself wouldn't make one of those games simply because the stage can become clustered and confusing very quickly. To fix this you could have menus to load the images you want to drag around onto the stage and also delete them. This way no cluster and only the things you are using is presented.

Other then that it is usful.

I'm talking about what was used for the play, stop and slideshow. If you click on the upper part it becomes dragable. Unfortunately it moves to the bottom right. You see you can actually make it so that you can only drag something on a certain area of the stage.

Also the true part that I've written makes it so that its dragged from where you clicked on the movie and not in the middle of the movie.
