Some were wondering why he was all bloodied in the bottom reflection. Here's the reason. Yes, Connor has an alternate form.

Now, this isn't something he can change into just out of the blue, nor by choice. It's a forced mutation caused by a rather nasty substance quaintly known as "Nightmare Fuel."

What is Nightmare Fuel?

Nightmare Fuel I guess is similar to MrAngryDog 's Liquid Hate, except its origins are not artificial. It created from demonic origins, since it's the corrupted blood of a demon or demonic entity that had been processed and is used as an experimental drug of sorts. It's a tar like substance that is very acidic, since it's able to corrode metal and rock. Due to this, it's usually kept in vials that have tempered glass as it's core for it's strong bond against acidic liquids.

When tested on a human, Nightmare Fuel makes the human lose some sense of humanity and lean more towards animalistic as due to it's corrupted nature. It brings out the rather primal desires in us, causing the test subjects to go into fits of rages, heightened senses, stronger muscle strength, no sense of morals and lack of control of oneself. Other symptoms include psychosis in tests of high dosages, uncontrolled rage, blood lust, and can even destroy the body from the inside out by eating away at the enlarged muscles and organs from the Nightmare Fuel. High doses and overdoses can lead to death, permanent mutations or eventual madness due to how corrupt it is.

In rare cases, the body can adjust to the liquid and become dependent on the compound, so, the affected test subject would go through addiction and symptoms of drug withdraw if not injected on a daily basis. Though, due to it's acidic nature, the body will attempt to expel it through vomiting as if it were stomach acid, and caused great pain to the subject.

On the other side, if you add in attributes, like say from an animal or a ore, it can transform the human into a mutant since it latches onto irregularities in the test subjects DNA code and cells. So for example, Connor has rabbit DNA in his body. So, when he's injected with Nightmare Fuel, it causes him to mutant into a eight foot tall wererabbit as shown above.

The effects can be permanent, depending on how long it's been in the body, since the body can absorb the Nightmare Fuel as it's own blood and can ultimately turn the person into a monster. It's nothing to be trifled with.

Nightmare Fuel can come in a diluted form in which most of the liquid has been watered down and is a weaker form of the original. It's used to give the test subject more awareness to their rather animalistic ways and gives the tester more controlled over them without the possibility of them being overpowered by the enraged subject going by their primal instincts to kill threats.

Nightmare Fuel though can be forcefully dispelled by injecting a substance called Celestial Dust in which, is rather blessed in origin, rather than demonic and is a blue color in it's liquified form. It can counter the demonic influence of the Nightmare Fuel and force the body to expel it through vomiting as a black oozing bile.

What happens when Connor gets turned into this form?

As mentioned above, most test subjects affected usually suffer from fits of rage, heightened senses, stronger muscle strength, no sense of morals and lack of control of oneself and as such he also suffers these symptoms. Due to his animal DNA, he mutated into a human with rabbit features such as his snout/face, ears, claws and elongated feet as well have white fur cover his body. He also stretches to a height of eight feet (from the tip of his ears when he perks them up alert to the bottom of his feet.)

Since humans and rabbits are plantigrade, he stands flat on his feet. The Nightmare Fuel also heighten his five senses so his sense of smell, hearing and taste are very strong. He also has a strong desire to feed his bloodlust by eating flesh and meat, hence his sharpened teeth despite his rabbit-like nature in his blood and his muscles enlarge to compensate for the changes in his skeleton underneath due to his rabbit feet and face.

The transformation itself is excruciating due to how much needed to shift, mold, break and change as he was writhing in agony due to the burning sensation from the Nightmare Fuel going throughout his body.

An important note is that his pupils are a huge indication of what his moods are and how threatened he is:

❥ Normally in this form, his pupils have a wide slit, showing that he's animalistic in nature but is enough control to properly navigate in his environment and react to any threats in a rather quick manner to defend himself.
❥ If his pupils are a thin predatory slit, that means he's pissed as all hell and won't back down defending himself. He will attack blindly in rage and even kill just to eat the flesh from the corpses. Best advice is to run.
❥ If his pupils are dilated and look more humane, this is an indication he's calmed, and aware of the world around him with some human intelligence. Sometimes, due to his human half, he can speak some words in a low throaty growl. He can be calmed by being petted by a non-threatening person or if he knows you're a friend by scent or some sort of indication etched into the memory.

He actually only been in this form once when recaptured as a proxy and tested upon to see the effects of Nightmare Fuel. Let's say the guards didn't have a good shift and the janitors had a hell of a cleaning day. In the end though, a fellow test subject grabbed a vial of Celestial Dust and injected into the beast, causing Connor to shift painfully back into his human self and expel the Nightmare Fuel through vomiting.
