Author's note: One of the reasons he's fallen for Crossroads is that she had some of the same personality traits as his deceased wife Amelia and also loves Cross for her spunk and attitude. Plus, he felt it was the time to move on, though he still respecting the memory of his murdered spouse.
Although, He's not the the dominate one in the relationship surprisingly enough. It's due to Crossroad's ability to eat peoples souls and does so especially when angered, so that's why she has the upper hand in the relationship. Thankfully, Hangman does have slight advantage of strength so he can lasso her and pin her down when she goes into a rage.

- Electricity (Can cause him to solidify and do damage)
- Exorcism
- Being overpowered by numbers- large groups make him paranoid
- Reliving his death via nightmares
- Flashbacks
- Betrayal
- His bloodied noose made out of a strong piece of rope that is worked its way into his neck.
- Has a messenger/ guardian raven that he grew accustom with whom he named Lenore. He also has a symbolic relationship to Lenore's flock for in exchange for the food provided by the corpses of his victims, they watch over his town like a pair of eyes.
- Revolver is strapped to his hip in a hoister. Its a five round model and he uses it as an alternate weapon.
- Carries a pocket watch with a picture of his wife, his daughter and him inside the lid of the pocket watch.
- Elmer Toddson (Dream-Coat-Guy )- He was the apprentice of the formerly deceased Reverend Gold before Elmer met his untimely death.
- Graveyard ( LadyAnnMajora )
- Slender Doll Ally (me)
- Crossroads (The-Royal-Ink )- Current Partner/ Love Interest

- Eclipse (me)
- Soothsayer (me)
- Smokey Joe and Bloody Mary ( Dream-Coat-Guy )
- Justice (MediatorIridescent )
- Madam Geist ( MediatorIridescent )
- Transparency
- Possession
- Object Manipulation (This isn't as strong as a poltergeist's grip on objects but it's enough so he can keep ahold of his rope and revolver and use objects as cover.)
- Teleportation (This is for only a short distance- about 100 yards or so at most)
- Invisibility for brief periods of time
- Ghost Lights/ Orbs
Weapons:
- Usually uses the noose around his neck to snap the necks of his victims or suffocate them until they are dead. Most of the time, the victims don't usually know what hits them as he usually attacks when they least expect it and get taken by surprise as they struggle and thrash around.
- A late 1800's five-shooter revolver- this is his alternate weapon. It only does damage when he's solid so, if he's invisible, the victim would only hear the gunshot and take no damage. If he's solid and in view, he can do damage with the revolver but he also has the chance of being hit as well.
- Usually uses the noose around his neck to snap the necks of his victims or suffocate them until they are dead. He does this as a stealth move most of the time.
- Sometimes uses his gun in times where his noose is out of reach or torn away from his grip. The bullets do damage only when he is solid.
Examples:
Strangulation of a victim
Breaking the neck of a victim
Weaknesses:
- Exorcist Items
- Spiritual attacks
- Physical attacks when solid
- Children and women
- Necromancer- related magics/abilities
- Spirit binding magic/abilities (such as being bound to an item by force)
- His Aquamarine soul gem- if this breaks, he's forced to move on into the afterlife due to it being the reason he's in limbo between this world and the afterlife. The soul gem is a soul solidified and it's Aquamarine to show that he was born in March as all soul gems are the birthstones of the restless spirit's birth month.
- Salt Circles- Which to popular belief, keeps hostile spirits at bay if a person creates the circle around them.
- When he's linked up to Lenore, he can get inflicted with the pain she feels if the raven gets injured. This can cause damage to his gem due to them being psychically bonded.
Strengths:
- Slight immunity to Holy objects (which is that he can be touched with holy symbols and only feel a burning sensation than a flat out painful shock)- This immunity came from him being around a priest shortly before his death in life since his brother-in-law was the town's pastor. He was found by the pastor and town doctor unconscious in his home after his wife was murdered and was being taken care of before Andrew was arrested.
- Solidification at will
- Transparency at will
- Can use objects as a weapon with his abilities of object manipulation.
Cause of Death: He was hung by false accusations of being the murderer of Hendrick's Post's sheriff and struggled for 45 minutes before he died at the gallows.
For those skeptical, I quote this from www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/
"For execution by this method, the inmate may be weighed the day before the execution, and a rehearsal is done using a sandbag of the same weight as the prisoner. This is to determine the length of 'drop' necessary to ensure a quick death. If the rope is too long, the inmate could be decapitated, and if it is too short, the strangulation could take as long as 45 minutes.
If the inmate has strong neck muscles, is very light, if the 'drop' is too short, or the noose has been wrongly positioned, the fracture-dislocation is not rapid and death results from slow asphyxiation. If this occurs the face becomes engorged, the tongue protrudes, the eyes pop, the body defecates, and violent movements of the limbs occur. "
Brief Backstory:
- Childhood: Born on March 17th, 1843 in Goldfield, Arizona; raised on a ranch near his hometown and grew up with his elder brother John. Andrew was the youngest in the family and out of two boys. Andrew also meets Daniel Cullen at a young age and they became best friends.
- Adolescence: In his early teens, Andrew moves out from the family ranch and travels with Daniel by train to the town of Hendrick’s post. Both meet Lois Burns who was a wealthy rancher outside of Hendrick’s Post and gives both of them the job of being ranch hands with the cattle. They settled into the town shortly afterwards when they earned enough money.
- Adulthood: Andrew and Daniel fell for a newcomer named Amelia Gold when she moved into the town with the new priest and her brother Reverend Birdland Gold. After a year or so of courting from both suitors, Amelia chose Andrew over Daniel and the two men due to this became rivals. Later on, Amelia and Andrew got married and both had a daughter shortly afterwards. Several years past and on the night leading up to Andrew being hanged, Daniel knocked out Andrew, shot Amelia and then proceeded to shoot the sheriff with Andrew’s revolver. Allison (who is the Colt’s daughter) was staying with Reverend Gold at the time of the murders due to Amelia suffering from sickness due to her second pregnancy. Andrew got arrested and sentenced to the gallows under false accusation of the two murders. He dies on October 23, 1872 at age 29.
Notes:
- His neck was broken during his hanging so sometimes to get the noose around his neck or take it off, Hangman has to dislocate his neck first. It doesn't hurt but causes some discomfort.
- His tongue has a blue tint to it due to the lack of oxygen when he was suffocating to death.
- His whites of his eyes are black to show the wounds he gotten during his hanging- the blood vessels burst and bled in his whites of his eyes as he died slowly of lack of oxygen. (Yes, usually they are bloodshot but, as the creator, I decide to up the creepy factor and made them black)
- He has the rope embedded into his neck and has the rope burns from struggling as he was hung. He also has blood around his neck due to the constant rubbing of the skin raw.
- Tear ducts of the eyes and corners of the mouth are dripping blood due to him spitting up blood from his mouth and the blood bursting from his tear ducts as he suffocated to death
- His victims are mainly men who have "sinned"- Men who beat their wife and kids, men who cheat, and men who killed...etc. He might though, spare a man if he is a father to a child with no other parent or the child is present. This also comes along if the man is engaged or married happily.
- His purpose of coming back from the dead is originally, he came back from the dead to kill Daniel Cullen. This was a man who murdered his wife then the sheriff and then pinned the crimes onto him. He also was angry at the deputy and his goons for not believing his innocence. and they were his first victims. Daniel came later but it was hard to track him down since he fled the town shortly after his execution.
- Still retains his Southern accent and charm and will be polite to strangers...until you provoke him.
- Was married to a woman named Amelia Gold and had a daughter but his wife was murdered by his best friend turned rival Daniel Cullen. Hangman was then framed for the murder of Hendrick's Post's sheriff later that eventful night and was hung the next day. Daughter's name was Allison Colt.
- He had a friend named Daniel Cullen who became his rival after the strife between the two men over the love of Amelia.
- He still wears the workmen clothes he died and was buried in.
- Has a soft spot for children- he won't harm them and will even protect them if they are in harm's way. This also is a weakness due to the fact that he might not kill his victim if the victim is a father to a child with no other parent or the child is present. This also goes for his attitude towards women.
- Despite the ability of going into an "invert" state of rest to regain his lost energy whilst using his powers, he chooses not to do to the constant nightmares of reliving his death and the painful memories of loosing his family.
- He has an symbolic relationship with a flock of ravens who stay in his old town. In turn of feasting on the corpses of the Hangman's victims, they will watch over his town and him for any signs of trouble. Almost like a second pair of eyes.
- "Let them vermin swing."
- "Now ain't that quaint?"
- "Strung 'em up; let them to rot!"
- "Did yer mama ever tell yew its not polite to stare?"
- "Howdy stranger."
- "Justice will prevail."
- "Tell me stranger..what size neck are ya?"
- "Better pray the Lord is on yer side- because yer goin' to see him soon."

Hey Ika
So let me just say wow, your character and its desgin looks great. The only thing I will say is to try not to make his hair to long but say just a little bit past his shoulders or up to them. As for the gun I'm still considering its good or not, but hey its up to you on you can explain how he uses his gun. But overall the character's background and the design itself looks great. Also I give you props since I've never seen a western style character, and its something new and fresh to see.

I actually really like this character in both look and backstory. This appearance has a very menacing stance to it, what with the bloody face and rope around his neck. And yet he still fits into the century he died in. His long hair in my opinion was a very touch, since I can imagine it was hard to get a decent haircut. The hat and revolver also help say a little from about his background. And as for that... his story actually could be something that you might find in an old town record. Most creepypastas I know of, including my own, commonly had an awful life and wouldn't even tie into how they turned crazy or why they kill the way they do. Hangman here had a family, a job, a normal life! But getting framed and hung in the gallows explains realistically why he does what he does. Plus you drew him all together really well. Kudos to you.

In Arizona this kind of cancer is dealt with .44 magnum and some Jack Daniel's. Why you ask? Because we when kill ourselves, unlike you who claims to be an Arizonan (which I do not believe). The only thing worse than you is a nigger faggot who claims that god isn't real, evolution is real, and gluten is bad for you.

The design isn't bad, but I think missing eyeballs would be fitting, since it isn't uncommon for the eyeballs pop out during lynching.

Well. I don't want to go overboard.
Plus it was a judicial hanging so they had some experience despite this execution being butchered.

It's actually less painful as it snaps the neck rather than suffocating to death

Depends on the length of the rope, the weight of the prisoner etc. Back then, they used sandbags in the approx. weight of the criminal and tested out the mechanism of the gallows before an execution. But with Andrew's, his was rushed and they didn't do that. They just used a length of rope they thought fit him and it ended up breaking his neck but not cleanly enough for him to die quickly, causing him to suffocate.

Let me tell you of a story.
There was this woman who killed many people; her children, her husbands, even a lover, and her mother and other children. Eventually, the hangman got back at her. He intentionally used the wrong rope length, making her suffer.

I love all your characters~! Hangman is one of my favourites other then Ally, I love his design, how they match up with his death and his timeline, looks like you did your research. I love how in his quotes you show his southern accent, as well as the way that he's not a "bad" ghost that just kills you on sight but is rather charming and polite until you say something that makes him want to kill you. It's very realistic too, which with creepypasta stories is hard to find, he wasn't just someone who went crazy he was wrongly accused and died for it. Though I have to say I'm curious what may have happened to his daughter.

Thank you ;w;
His daughter was taken in by her uncle Reverend Gold after she was orphaned at the age of four after Amelia's murder and Hangman's execution. They then moved out of the town after people started to leave due to the unexplained "murders" of the deputy and his goons and many others.
