The one thing Monarch fears above anything else is reverting back to Saik... But, it's getting harder for her not to. When she's stressed or angry, she often snaps, shouting, or even coming close to lashing out. She's very good at dealing with it and covering it out, but she's frightened because the feeling, the notion is there.One day she's worried Saik might just sneak in and take over alltogether. Sure, Saik wasn't completely evil, but for the most part she had lost her morals and no-longer cared about other people. Monarch likes being able to care for others. She'll fight, but she will never kill again. Of course, if Saik got complete control, that idealism might become difficult to keep...
Also, for Saik's quote- the last thing Monarch wants Queen to see is that complete loss of control. Her nightmare image of Saik is pretty good at rubbing that in.

Interestingly, for me, I think Legionnaire Toko would take great interest in the dilemma of Monarch's subconscious and Saik's ingrained personality. But that depends on what purpose the Legionnaire could have for such a thing, heh, even if at base value it would fascinate her to 'poke' such an enigma. She does love duality in psychology.
That said, loving this picture. Such soft textures and shading, very expressive... lovely line art, gentle but angular in all the right ways. Monarch's expression is perfection.

Given how unutterably banal Toko finds most Irken drama to be, yeah, I think anything that juicy would have her bringing out all the potential entertainment/profit she could from it XD

The shading in this just makes it.. so fantastic. I love how it's so soft and smudgy in places.. It looks wonderful. The folds in the clothes, those look good too, seriously. Can't forget the expressions, great job on those... I like them both. You can really tell Monarch looks terrified.. and well.. idk but I just like Saik's expression, it's good. XD
I have been wondering what that is in Monarch's hand.. ._. Is it a big ass knife?... The blood from her hand touching it is what leads me to believe so..

I'm trying really hard to get those folds right XD I look at your pieces and you seem to just do it so easily, it looks so good XD
I imagine that Saik's just in the middle of shushing her, so I tried to make the lips stand out from the face slightly more, idk if it worked.
Actually, it's the tip of one of Saik's PAK-legs. I normally treat them as semi-sharp edged, and Monarch's gripping it hard to keep it from slicing into her neck. Hence, blood.
