[...] “Wait.” Ben stopped and outstretched his hand as well, partially leaning on to Rey. She studied him, but could not figure out what he was up to until she heard a low metallic rumble in the distance. The rumble became louder as the object came into their viewpoint. It left the ground for Ben demanded it into his hand. He was holding a blaster.
“You’re not gonna need that.” was Rey’s first reaction. But the weapon wasn’t First Order craft, Rey realised. It was from the days of the Rebels, looking quite similar to Han’s blaster, if she remembered it right. When, where and how he got it was still a question to her.
“I know. I just made a promise to someone a long time ago.” Ben emphasised. Rey looked at him in astonishment. He has started to slowly open up to her, his true self shining through his concealed soul.
“What is it?” Ben asked as he felt her gaze on him.
“Nothing.” Rey smiled. A long journey awaited them. It goes without saying that this journey will be difficult. Yet, Rey knew it will be worth the effort. [...]
