Description
ok my first tutorial ever (please go easy on me)!!! This is part 1 of three. my goal is to help you understand gimp a little better or have an alternative to another art program.if the picture is too big then download it, if still too big save it and open it up in an art program.
part 2 is on the way and ill provide a link once its complete. let me know if you need help, never hesitate to ask but first see if i answered your question in the tips section of the tutorial.
oh and happy holidays.

Thanks for the tutorial. Paths are still a huge mystery to me but thanks to this I think I'm a bit closer to solving it

Actually, for a first tutorial, you've done quite well.
You've chosen a fantastic place to start, and explaining the basics is very important so that the more complex tutorials can be understood.
I also like how you've focused on how to save time using the path tool. It's tediousness has detered me from using it, but I might give it another shot now.
So overall, whilst the red text can be a little hard to read against the background, and not all the captial letters in the right spot and other grammar blah, this is a well done tutorial and a great place to start.

Nice tutorial on GIMP
I used to use 'Stroke line' at those pixels. Now I use the 'stroke with a paint tool' using a 'Circle (03)' brush :3

You really do have a point, Photoshops pen is much more confusing (and scary lol) than gimp's.
I think this is a very good tutorial. ^^ I would use it, really. But i have this grudge against pen tools. ( not actual pens) I use a closely related tool to a pen, but it's even simpler. They're almost like MS Paint. I use those for Back grounds, vehicles, tools, you know, the extremely strait or extremely curvy lines.
But great job, i give it a A on explanation and understanding. ^^
