this is a sheild I made for myself out of a large turtle shell and a cows rib bone. I love the thing. it also now has an abalone button on the face and two feathers. I am still trying to devise a secure way to have it on my back while allowing quick axcess to it. trying to make it as simple as possible. simple things don't brake as easily.*edit* Finaly took some better pictures of my sheild. The hand can go all the way through the sheild to allow our hand to also hold something while still having the sheild on your arm.

ok this reminds me of a piece of equipment a friend drew though it was from some sort of mystic creaturethis is cool though i could totally see a culture developing such a shield.
