I have wanted to draw this up for ages!

I just wanted to clarify the differences between the two species.

An erebus is a creature made from two human souls forcefully fused together. They are aggressive creatures that are determined to attack and kill as many humans as they can in their lifetime. They start out quite feral and animalistic, but as they age and grow they often become more intelligent, often learning how to speak. They are able to change the colour of their coats, as well as add on body parts from other dead creatures. Their lifespan is around 100 years, and once that time is up they are driven to try to return to their creator to be killed. One of two things will happen if they don't make it: either they will turn into a dusk erebus, or their souls will separate, and their souls will be reborn as two erstewhile.

Erebus are an open species

An erstewhile is the product of the end of an erebus' life. They are similar in appearance but very different in behavior and physiology. Erstewhile each have their own unique personalities, like humans. Most of the time they are very empathetic, caring creatures. They often seek the company of other erstewhile and they are drawn to one another, creating communities and hierarchies in their groups. They are also more likely to wear accessories like jewelry and sometimes even primitive clothing.
Unlike erebus, they need to eat to survive, they can't take and store souls, they are born with the traits they'll have their entire life, and their coat only changes once. They age similarly to humans, but at a much slower rate.
