Description
UneditedTaken with Cokin +3 Closeup lens
Edit: Haha... not really unedited anymore. I discovered that on other monitors you could see the pattern of the black fabric that it was on, so I pulled up the contrast on the background to make it a true black. And... I think I took out a white spot on the flower.

I've kept your old comment about moving things left in my message centre since the day that you made it so I would remember to do it, but then when I did, I didn't like it. I played with it for a while, but I'm not sure I actually moved it much in the end.

I would suggest moving it to the left and adding more empty space on the left.
Great details from a beautiful flower though.
Good work!

I think this is probably the most striking of the series, composition wise. Although a teeny tiny bit of extra space on the right side would be nice since that petal comes just a teensy bit close to the edge of the frame. I would do some slight levels or curves adjustments, to further darken the texture of the background, (but then I like my backgrounds quite clean and solidy anyway..) I'd also clone out that little white dot on the front petal, and give the whole thing some mild sharpening..
White might sound like a lot, but really it's just a couple of minor things, that I think would just make it cleaner, and give that bit more "pop". Still a really lovely shot though. Nicely done Ruth.

Haha... I was going to edit it a little, but Ro was over here and he was all "nooo, leave it like it iiiis." "Don't take out that white spot!" "If you edit that thing I'm going to be smack you." He made me do it.
I agree with you, though, and I'll probably get around to making some adjustments this weekend.
Thankies, Gem.
