Description Another part for KEA Cross-Country Trials  featuring Ace, Flower, Jellyfish  and the made up vet Katie.
While Jelly is perfectly healthy, it seems she doesn't like women.... or vets... or Katie.... probably all three...

-------------------

It took quite some time as they got Jelly settled in her assigned stall where she'd be staying for the duration of their stay. While she seemed unimpressed with the weather here, she did seem to begrudgingly appreciate the warmth of the stall and Ace was pleased to see it was a well-kept place. Once Jelly was comfortably in their stall, they were shown around the place and Ace was glad to eventually get inside where it was warm while they were shown where he and Flower would be staying while here. Eagerly Ace greeted the other competitors, enjoying the company as well as making new friends with the staff, concluding he certainly liked this place.

The next day it was announced that vet-checks were to be taking place and the horses were one by one brought out of their stalls to assessed to ensure they were healthy enough. While Ace had brought Jelly a long way in terms of training, she'd always retained her wild spirit and proud nature, so she needed some coaxing before she would allow herself to be led into the area where she'd be checked over. The vet stepped forward and introduced herself as Katie, though while Ace took a liking to the young vet, Jelly certainly did not. Each time Katie would approach her the Kelpie would pin her ears back and bare her teeth. From the first moment Katie proved she'd not be so easily intimidated, however Jelly also proved she was not so quick to back down. So Ace kept a tight hold of the lead-rope while Katie began inspecting her, asking questions about her capture and taming as she ensured the irritated horse was healthy enough to compete.

Each time Ace would move Jelly's head out of range of Katie, the unimpressed mare would try to nip him however most times Ace was able to avoid it. Ever since the first day he'd captured her she had a tendency to bite him whenever she was unhappy with something and while she the two eventually bonded, she hadn't dropped her habit. Flower also did what he could to keep Jelly from biting and this combined effort resulted in minimal bruising and a confirmation from Katie that Jelly was healthy enough to compete in the coming competition, commenting on the excellent health she was in.

Exactly
Hahaha yeah that's true, they are all wild horses after all, they're not going to be super keen to be tamed
