Description
Here's a more advanced study into the design of Tatsuki Maehara (as I seem to have omitted her last name last time), The False Blade. I chose to do a close up and full-frontal perspective for this piece because I wanted to examine every detail of her face. So here's what's new in the design:- As Sapphirelotus mentioned to me personally, the old drawing had Tatsuki's part in her hair way too long. I examined it against other drawings and discovered that in general my hairlines are far lover than they should. I raised it a good inch (paper wise) higher and the result was more than adequate. Her hairlength needs to be longer though...
- Tatsuki's trademark scarf was scrapped for this drawing, mostly because I drew an excellent neck (for me) and felt covering that up would be a tradgedy.
- To compensate for this loss, I gave Tatsuki a choker necklace, an idea I had after I finished the first sketch
- I also tied a couple clumps of her hair together. Another flourish I thought of after the first sketch
- The proportions are much more realistice, except...
- Her breasts are HUGE! I apologize to all the women out there, as I had no intention of making them so big. I'm still learning the basics of the female figure, and I obviously need to practice that particular area.
I'd also like to point out that the wind is blowing in this picture, which explains why all the loss hair and clothing are blowing to theleft (her right). I've never really factored wind into my drawins, so I thought now would be good testing waters. Not many clothing folds, but I couldn't really think of where to put them.

Yes, the Choker is a bit lopsided, which I noticed after I had scanned it
I'm trying what you suggected about the coloring, but I'm not sure how well it will turn out. I actually should have it up in a little bit. I worked a lot on it last night. The only trouble I'm having is shading the hair, but everything else looks great.

The hair's much better in this one! Good job! Actually, the hair's pretty good in this one in general.
I noticed the thing about her boobs. I was wondering whether you'd done that on purpose or not
Can't really find anything to critique except for the huge boobs and the choker looks a bit odd. Other than that, thumbs up!

Ooh, I just saw the thing about the colored version. Looking forward to it!
You might try some kind of coloring technique that could help make her chest look smaller. I wouldn't know how to help you, though, except that black is supposed to be minimizing.
