[ Personal Information ]
PERSONALITY    ↳ [ + Friendly + Kind + Adaptable + Patient || = Maternal || - Secretive - Gullible - Passive - Worrisome ]

Irene is a rather motherly and gentle being, for she normally teaches kids, so she has the tendency to treat others as delicately as she would a child! However, she can be as strict as a mother as well, normally her sternness being driven by her concern for others. Irene has a tendency to worry a lot, and prefers to triple-check just in case anything goes wrong! Although, it's not hard to reassure her sometimes, for she believes others at the drop of a hat. Sometimes it can be a silly lie, or a goofy saying, and sometimes she just automatically thinks you're being honest. She's a pacifist, and normally prefers not to dig into the truth even if she doesn't believe them. She knows secrets are good enough as secrets. This lady is secretive herself, somehow always avoiding a question, or turning the subject to another person. Some say she does it on purpose and well, they wouldn't be wrong.

HISTORY [ god im sorry this is so long ]    ↳ [ Childhood . Adolesence . Adult . Current ]

[ Childhood ]

Irene didn't have much of a childhood, but she tried to enjoy what she could.

Born to a mother who didn't want her, things got rough. Evellyn was a very busy woman, and she overworked herself. Normally she came home tired, and hardly said a word to Irene at all. She remembered it being lonely for awhile. Her mother was neglectful- to both herself and her child. She was too caught up in her work. When Irene wanted food, she'd give her leftovers of her lunch. Irene liked the morsels, they always tasted fancy. Even at a young age, she knew her mother didn't make her own food, but she did appreciate the fact she gave her food.

When she was around the age of 3 or 4, her mother gave Irene her own personal teacher. She could pay for it. Irene happened to like her tutor. He was very nice and made sure Irene was alright- it made her feel like she had a friend. She was inspired by him, and he was one of the reasons she became a teacher when she was older.

She grew up being homeschooled for awhile, until she was 11, when her mother fired her teacher. Confused and upset, Irene spoke personally to her mother once, asking her why she would do this? Evellyn was cold, simply telling her she would be going to a new home.

And, well, she did. Her uncle Logan took her away. He was very warm compared to Evellyn, and he reminded Irene of her teacher. She decided to trust him. She relied on him more than she did her mother.

From there, Logan sent her to public school to socialize. Irene was a shy child and had a hard time interacting with others, never really doing so within her age group before.

To be frank, she hated public school for awhile.

[ Adolesence ]

Although she hardly had friends, Irene's life was going well from there on. For awhile, at least, until around the age of 13.

Meeting a boy named Harrison changed her life. He was very pushy and bullied Irene for her shyness. She wasn't sure how to react, exactly. So she didn't. She dreaded going back to school because of him.

However, as time slowly went on, the teasing and such let up, and he almost seemed...soft. Almost. Like a kitten with thorns in its side. Irene wasn't sure why he exactly let up all of a sudden, but she did appreciate it. However, he didn't seem to appreciate any gratitude for a bit, as if he was embarrassed of being her friend. It was progress. She suddenly felt determined for the boy to be her friend, wanting to show him her kindness.

She knitted him things. She liked seeing his reaction, finding him amusing. He had quite the witty jokes. She let him be her taste-tester, just learning to cook. She wasn't a very good cook at first, but they both sort of learned together how to do so. Irene appreciated his help.

Soon enough, the two became best friends, and still remain so until this day.

[ Adult ]

Irene eventually matured, growing less shy and more friendly- motherly, even. She learned to care for herself and others- especially her best friend, Harrison. He fell into a dark hole of drinking, in which Irene was unhappy about. She continuously scolded him for it, the man usually doing stupid things when his mind was fuzzy. However, it seemed there was nothing she could exactly do to stop it. He always managed to find the bottles she hid.

Irene eventually gave up her attempts to help her friend, and decided she'd leave him be when he was drunk.

She grew lonely one day, and decided she'd go to her uncle's bakery to see if he was home. Well, he wasn't, but someone else was. She wasn't even sure how their encounter went, or how they began talking in the first place. His name was Jax. He was serious, but knew what he was talking about. And made a good conversation. Irene was enjoyed to see him smile, especially when she made him smile. She found it lovely.

When she talked about Jax to Harrison, he didn't seem to like him. She frowned at this thought, but she knew everything couldn't be good.

As time went on, she talked to Jax about how she wanted to be a teacher. She loved helping others and it just felt like the job for her. Jax encouraged her to follow her dreams, so it was something she appreciated as she was trying to get the job.

When she was about 20, she did become a teacher. It was the most exciting part of her life, laughing in disbelief when she had her own class.

This wasn't the only exciting thing, however- eventually, Jax asked Irene to be with her, and she happily obliged. Not long after, they were married. For awhile, she was happily married, but as time passed, Jax almost seemed to...change.

He was still the same! It's just he couldn't take the blame for anything. He normally blamed Irene for things, telling her she should have done this, or should not have done that. She was fine with this! If he needed someone to blame for things, then she'd be the one. It wasn't hard to take blame for stuff.

One thing she never learned about Jax is that he was hotheaded. She knew he was stubborn, but he never shown he had a short temper. Irene was absolutely terrified when he started to break her things when he was angry. And even though this scared her, she didn't know what to do. She wouldn't leave him- she loved him. She tried talking it out with him, and this seemed to help a bit. He tried to control his temper around her. She appreciated his efforts.

For a little bit, she knew she hadn't talked to Harrison in awhile, so she decided she would catch up with her close friend.

He got a job as a butcher, which Irene was happy to hear about. However, he never stopped drinking, which Irene was a bit upset about, but decided not to dig into. She was scared for his liver, but...if he were to get sick, then that was his own choice. She couldn't stop him.

She told him about how she and Jax were married now, which he wasn't really surprised about. Weddings were always a gossip around town. He asked her numerous questions like if he treated her well, if he was busy, if he had time for her. Irene answered with what she could, saying he did try to treat her well- he had his own problems, but they were working on them. Curious, the butcher asked her what she meant, and Irene reluctantly dived into an explanation of how Jax would break her things when he was angry, would blame things on her. This seemed to make Harrison angry, but she begged him not to act upon it. They were working things out, and it would be fine!

However, one drunken night, Harrison decided it was in fact, not okay. When Jax was out for work, Harrison confronted him, slurring him off until it actually turned into a real fight. Needless to say, but Jax won, although both came out pretty scruffy.

Irene learned this when Jax got into a fight with her, and it was one of the worst they've ever had. Jax asked her questions that bewildered her- if she was cheating on him, if she was lying to him this entire time, if their marriage was fake. Irene answered honestly to all of them, but this didn't seem good enough for Jax. The fight ended up with Irene hurt pretty bad in the end, both emotionally and physically, and that night, she decided she would leave Jax. Right now she couldn't tell if it was on instinct, or if she should have thought of it, but she knows she's happier now that she isn't with him anymore. She did love him, but she didn't want to get hurt like that ever again.

So when they were divorced, Irene had to move out, for it wasn't her house. She wasn't very keen on moving back in with her uncle. And though she had a job, she couldn't buy a house out of the blue- she still had food to pay for.

Irene went to Harrison, telling him her situation, and he told her she could move in with him. Even now, they're roommates. Although she still hates the smell of alcohol, she's grown used to it.

[ Current ]

Irene has been living with her best friend for years, and things have been going well. Even though he's a butcher, Harrison's cooking is just...sad, so Irene is the one who cooks in the house.

She's been teaching for awhile, finding joy in teaching her class, for she certainly loves children. However, as time went on, she was open to teaching adults and teens too. She found she just loved helping others.
