A quick doodle of Niki-UK's personal character MaoMao, only as an anthropomorph. Yes, I am aware that there is something terribly wrong with his head >_O;;; that's why this little kitten shall remain a scrap
I'll update it once I beat his head back to a normal shape with a frying pan. I seem to be having trouble with anything related to the face lately. Meh.
oh, it's all scratchy because I sketch with a light hand and it had to be darkened. Otherwise it would be unviewable O_o

The soft. smooth shading is really quite beautiful in the pic. Hmm... the details are very intriquate (like in the feather), and I really love the eyes for some reason. They're both feral and, somehow, human. Very pretty ^.^

Heh, the frying pan should be fine. . . Mao doesn't have a very thick skull-- he's a sharp little kitten. ^ ~
Perhaps more references would be nice. I just used Niki's airbrushing of MaoMao (who is very much a cat) for a reference. She liked him, so I guess that's all that really matters.
Oh, and if you want to know why I think the face must look strange: Copy this screenshot and flip the image horozontally. Something is rather weird.

He is beautiful! I think you are too critical of yourself... I love his ears and all those feathers. My problem with anthro faces is deciding how human or how animal they they are. It gets worse for me the more human I go. I really think he has a lovely face. Maybe you just need some references.
PS... Don't hurt the frying pan.
