Can you say Madame Rue?This may end up my entry for 's contest. Then again, it may not. The idea behind the contest was to draw the Queen of Hearts ( a la Alice and Wonderland) only sexier, deadlier, and downright dominatrixey. I started working with that idea in mind, then got to approximately her neck (I started with her face) and she didn't feel like a card to me.
In fact, although she remains the queen of hearts, it is in an entirely different (and far more literal) way. Love potions must be pretty damned fun to brew. . . under her supervision right now is the coveted Love Potion number Nine, and she is looking rather pleased with her new mind poison.
Ah, yes. The reasoning behind the Love Potions: We were to give the queen sharp and pointy instruments of death, and while I *did* start with that idea in mind, I decided that a far more lethal weapon for this woman would be brewed, not forged.
This scan is crappy, and the lighter details in the original are nonexistant. Thought that I should point that out. Also, once coloured, this will be very dark and shadowy, the potions (mainly Number Nine) being the only source of light.

I won't have access to photoshop for an entire week, though. That would be a large extention not even including the time it would take for me to finish (seeing as I will no longer have an entire three blocks a day with PS)
It will be uploaded eventually, but I really don't think it will be in time for the contest. I suppose I will upload what I have done into my scraps on monday, unfinished though it will probably be.

that sucks... but I know what you talking about - one gets best inspiration when there's no possibility to get in on paper (or into the computer in this case

Of what I can see I like very much; the concept is ingenious, and a lovely take on the Queen- just the type of thing she'd do, too, poison the mind to torture the soul- wonderful work! I do hope that you finish it, I would much-love to see it colored! Would you like to have it displayed as is with the other entrants as 50% done, or would you prefer it kept under wraps incase you *don't* finish? Ahhh, once again, o.O wow.

I suppose it could be displayed, but simply disqualified if I don't finish it on time. I do fully intend to finish this, so you will see the finished version either way, but I am considering digitally colouring this one - the only problem: My PC only has a quarter gig of RAM, and photoshop will not run smoothly on that O_o; more traditional means could still be used, though, in spite of the fact that lighting will be a nightmare.
I'll try to make it by deadline, but if not then I just didn't make it. If you want to keep the potion concept for your story, well, feel free to 'enter' my outline.

Well, I'll hold off until I get your finished work- traditional or digital, either way, I'm sure it will be quite beautiful- I loved the pencil work you did for Tacesh, so, either or, whichever you think you'll have the time or resorces for would be ok with me
