10 years of Bionicle vibes series
I am so happy we got 2009. After a strange and vivid couple of years, especially 2008, Bionicle turns once again back down to a more thematic low tempo vibe of simple life in a world with few villages and much sand. I love 2009 so much for not only the vibe but the story and design of the Bara Magna Glatorian. Beautiful in their prime colours the designs feel nostalgic and welcoming and of course this is finally the year we get Mata Nui, the set. The year feels like homage to 2001 and Bionicle seems endless.

I remember seeing the first teaser for 2009 at the end of the last 08 comic and being blown away. When Bara Magna was introduce, I thought we'd be spending years there and getting to know it just as well as the MU. And after that, who knew where Bionicle would go next! Shame that never came to be.
