Description
My 2017 secret santa gift to toatom.tumblr.com/ .Tom and Sameri (toatom.tumblr.com/ and sensitivetroll.tumblr.com/ (Toms girlfriend)) are visiting my chars and Vhisola is quite eager to show the guests the ways of a Danish Christmas!
For your interest:
Gløgg is the Danish term for mulled wine. It is low in alcohol and typically served hot at Christmas events
Risengrød (rice pudding) is a dish served around December for Christmas. Rice, milk and sugar cooked, then sprinkled with cinnamon and with a solid piece of butter put on top.
Æbleskiver (literally "apple slices") is a Christmas dessert and has typically* nothing to do with apples or slices.. It is Basically just small spherical pancakes, with jam and/or powdered sugar as dip. (It is the best thing in the world. Objectively.)
Julehjerte (literally "Christmas heart") A common Christmas decoration that is a heart made of two pieces of braided and differently coloured gloss paper with a hanger. Usually shaped into a tiny basket. They can be anything from very simple or super detailed. (kinda like a carved pumpkin at Halloween). However the trademark Julehjerte is a 3x3 square pattern red/white one.
Julestjerne (literally "Christmas star") is a palm-size Christmas decoration. It is a 3 dimensional star made with multiple strips of paper braided together.
Flag guirlande (literally "flag garland") a long string with lots of small Danish flags. A common decoration for Christmas trees. (Back in WWII Denmark was occupied by Germany and in that time putting up the Danish Dannebrog flag was illegal, so people started decorating their Christmas trees with tiny flags instead.)
There are more traditions ofc, but these were just on top of my mind
*some still use actual apples for making æbleskiver

I love all the flags.
One of my neighbors recently visited the Netherlands, and she kept telling me how good the Æbleskiver were.

This is hilarious and wonderful and I'm dying. Those three poses are equal parts ridiculous and relatable, especially Sameri's. And Vhisola's pose and expression? Absolutely kills me, it's all too cute.
