Description
As a hunter of women he has no equal, but industrious slave-taking no longer holds his interest. There is glory to be won hunting Panther Girls in the forests, but even in this he is particular - only taking to the forests alone, stalking and trapping the Panther Girls as a lone hunter, invigorates him with challenge. He has no interest in the riches he wins from selling the Panther Girls, nor even in the acclaim - he lives for the hunt itself. People are wary of him and call him eccentric, but his skills earn him admiration, and bringing low the hated Panthers ensures him welcome. One day, his lone pursuit of such dangerous game will be the end of either his life or his freedom. He knows this, and does not mind. The hunt is everything.

I've stuck to what little I know, but I freely admit that all I know about Gorean lore comes from wikis and extended quotes, which I researched hoping to avoid howlers - from which I've also picked up that some of its fans seem quite prickly about people getting the wrong idea about the setting. To them I apologise if this isn't quite right - the imagery just fascinates me and I intend to start reading a couple of the novels. The picture was started as generic fantasy, the Gor story came halfway through and just sort of came to me. The only thing I feel I've definitely nailed down is the concept of putting "...of Gor" after everything, but I like it so I'm leaving it.
A DA-safe version of an image I uploaded on 'rotica, and as is often the case, I ended up taking the chance to improve it and ended up preferring the DA version.

This is breathtakingly beautiful, seen from down from the level of the vanquished Amazons, and looking up at the other one over his shoulders, right into her butt cheeks and kicking legs. I totally love the way he is stepping onto the corpse's throat to the right, that lies beautifully splayed with legs open exposing a gorgeous thick bush of hair adorning the genitals. An extremely beautiful depiction of an Amazon corpse.

Glad you liked it. I intended them to be unconscious rather than dead, but I suppose it's ambiguous!

Well, the great thing about such poses is that the artwork can indeed cater for more than one perspective, allowing both admirers of the defeated and enslaved, as well as the more battle passionate lovers of the vanquished and the slain in combat. Those who love the intensity, the drama and the uniqueness in depicting and bringing out the erotic beauty of slaughtered Amazons, an artwork such as this does indeed allow the mind to wander and imagine, and admire.
Ultimately portraying the unconscious and the dead is very similar. But allowing the imagination that proud and brave Amazons have fought to the bitter end and lie slaughtered, somehow shoots the excitement levels way over the top. So one could excuse such passionate viewers from conjuring up such scenes in their heads.

I read a few of the Gor novels.Β The Panther girls or various versions of Amazon warriors play only a small part in each of those I read.Β The reason that I stopped reading them was that they were all pretty much the same, mainly that an attractive and independent woman is captured and forced into sexual slavery.Β She is generally starved, demeaned, and abused until she accepts the fact that she actually likes being a slave.Β Having accepted her "proper" role she is then freed, but of course, she prefers slavery instead and begs the man who has brutalized her to keep her on.Β After reading a few of them I found I was skim reading them since the content was so similar.Β
However, that is a great scene.Β

Β I used to Sneak the Novels when My Older Brother was Finished and although I found the Sci Fi adventure of the First Four Interesting the Subsequent Novels lost My Interest and Quite Frankly led Me to the Image of the Author Typing with one Hand. Β

Thanks I agree on the novels really, having read the first two since posting this pic in addition to lengthy excerpts. The first was cool, but the second is already starting to feel like repetitive, weird propaganda for the author's views on gender. Still, that's the writing more than the world itself.

Wow, this is really something. You've really done a nice job of making it look painterly!

All thanks to you, too. Seriously. It's not Iray yet, obviously, but I used an oil painting texture based on your paper suggestion, and also found some handy UberSurface2 tips in your gallery. I would never have thought to use the velvet settings to simulate backlighting otherwise, and it seems to be so useful in defining the figures against the background, and also adding intentionally unrealistic melodrama to make the image less render-like. So thanks!

Ah, yeah I wish we had something like the velvet setting in Iray! We have to position lights properly to get edge lighting, and that can be a pain if we don't want additional shadows. You did a great job there and I look forward to seeing more!

This is just so good! The posing, the environment, the sheer drama. This may be your best work yet, and that is VERY high praise indeed.

Thanks I definitely agree that it's the best I've done to date. It comes the closest yet to what I was foolishly dreaming of making when I first discovered 3D, which was basically 70s van art with BDSM in it.
The trick will be to build a similarly good image with a different set and background image of course...

Ironhawk, my brother, as always, you best the competition as even your Hunter here bests the Panther Girls.Β And I would not be too worried about the Creator's fans picking apart your work here, it is fine. The only one to worry about is Mr. Norman himself; and while I certainly do not speak for him, having been honoured to correspond with him for some years now, I will go on the record as saying that so long as you are not profiting off of his literary works, his legacy is only strengthened by such mastery of the digital art form as you are doing here. He is a great man who has given us so much excellent fantasy literature. Keep on spreading the Gospel of John, my son!

Although weirdly enough, as I was doing some token research to try to make sure I avoided obvious howlers in the text description, it really caught my enthusiasm, which is weird because I remember reading about it 20 years ago or so and it never really grabbed me at the time. I'm going to give some of the novels a shot I think.

To be honest I just bolted on a Gor title to replace the layer of story from the 'rotica version that I had to take out because of DA's porn rules.
