Description
I've just completed this artwork which was commissioned by Spiral for their 2008 calendar cover. The Grim Reaper is a great subject to paint
I chose an angle that looks up at the figure to emphasis the power and menace of the character.

I'm speechless... It's so great with the design of the scythe and the angle you see him from. But also the buildings behind him, what deisigns are they? I would guess some gothic or medieval roman. Other then that I cannot do else but to congratulate you on such a great piece.

The idea of making an Alien-skull merging scythe is a very refreshing and creative idea!

but just an opinion though, maybe adding a little bit of dry bloodstaints on the Grim Reaper's finger and arm, or maybe the skull may give him a more sinister, devilish look...

This is definetly an awesome looking Reaper. I have seen some pretty good ones out there, but this is definetly the way to present the lord of time. Not some old scraggly bearded kind hearted soul, but a skeletal demon whom holds your life in his bony hands. 5/5

I love the hourglass hanging on the scythe and the background looks like something that would be In one of those night mares where you have no idea where your going or what you're running from but you're still horrified. I especially like the mist.

Okay, first off that scythe is just awesome. Second, I kinda hope this Grim Reaper shows up in my dreams tonight. I'm not really scared of death itself, but this guy may just make me think otherwise. I love how you can just barely see that glow in his eye sockets. It's not too much, but just enough to give it a really scary look. The background is wonderful as well, it fits well with him.
