Description There is this guy I know who made a character based off himself. He called his clichΓ© soul-eater character with weapons galore and impossible outfit - Scythe.
Yes. It was cheesy not to mention totally Gary Stu.
Frankly...incredibly annoying character who was apparently indestructible and can take on 50 ninjas at once. No joke, this character is for real.

And he draws him all the time. Heck he even drew himself as a wolf and bragged about how awesome he looked.

But you know what?
It's ok.

    For some of us:
    - Our artworks focus and theme is personal.
    - It's a means of escape from the real world.
    - We don't know who else to draw.
    - We are too shy to draw someone else we know or create our own characters.
    - We admire ourself and are confident.

So why is it so bad?

Guess What.
I like to draw myself. *

Gilbert & George included themselves in their world famous artworks [link]
Vincint Van Gogh made many paintings of himself [link]
Even it has been speculated, that the Mona Lisa was drawn of Leonardo Da Vinci's own likeness [link] [link]

Why we draw ourselves, must mean soemthing. Take it as a snapshot into our mind.

P.S The picture of the stamp ironically isn't me LOL

*well actually for me, moreso parts of myself, my psyche...

I just realized how often I draw myself as a cyborg-bunny person...

Ah so it's you, not a character/personality of yours? I see..
Seriously, I'm always waited to have someone call me out on it. I don't really care if they do P:

Well. It's a part of me. Just like how Af'kep and them are a part of me. I just usually refer to her as Yeakuaf. But she's basically me in my head. It's all exaggerated, of course. It'd be cool to live in space - not really.
I draw her as me when I don't want the situation to be too obvious for what it's referring to.

Call you out on drawing yourself? Nah, everyone probably uses themselves as reference. We're the most filled resource we have for our drawings.

Oh oakies yah. I wouldn't want to draw myself the same every time. I still don't think I'm ready to call those "different personalities" though they're like different moods.
Ah P: Yeah I do that too.

Well one person, ~The-Laughing-Lunatic pointed out after some time asking whether I drew myself or was it someone else.
Half the time is a tough question because a change of hair colour could be all the difference, physically.
Yeah though, I reference myself a lot, especially for something that involves a portraiture and I can't find a good reference for the angle I want!

Well, it's not like they're multiple personalities. They're just separate sections of the same possibility of personalities. Er.

That's true. Hm.
Heh heh. Exactly.
