This artwork makes part of a series of drawings for Mega Man X: Unit 49 's Season 2 I'm publishing this week.

Red Thunder is a Maverick Hunter with an Enhanced Emergency Acceleration System (EEAS), that allows him to achieve extreme speed and make prolonged dashes. Originally, he had his Electropulse Anklets, and later got an upgrade to have more of these devices in his arms and shoulders. Once charged, they can be activated along with the EAS to release strong electromagnetic pulses that can fry nearby machines and even sensitive internal parts of Mechaniloids and Reploids, staggering them, although Red Thunder is also stunned in the process. Despite that, Red Thunder is very confident about his own abilities and thinks his speed is unmatchable - to prove that, he might take a seemingly impossible task if it challenges this belief. He sees every mission as a chance to improve himself while he still cares about his colleagues. After an incident with the arms dealer named Maestro and the criminals Dikho & Scatho in 2187, his unit was killed and Red Thunder pledged to get vengeance. He became very intolerant to injustice and started to deny mercy even to regretful enemies, unlike X.
