Description For the past six months, I've been running the subreddit, /r/ArtFundamentals, where I've been posting structured, exercise-based lessons (covering the basics of drawing) and giving critiques to those who decide to post their homework. More recently, I've started rewriting the lessons and posting them to a dedicated website - expanding them from brief hand-written explanations to long, detailed articles, incorporating everything I've learned about what people find confusing and where extra attention is required.

If you've been having trouble learning your fundamentals in the usual methods, you might find the analytical, constructive approach somewhat easier to follow. As far as I'm concerned, it's the sort of thing anyone can learn, regardless of background. It is also extremely helpful for those who who are primarily self-taught and find their progress stagnating, as I once did.

So, here's the first lesson. You'll find it here: drawabox.com/lesson/1
If you're interested in receiving critique for your homework, I'm still doing that on Reddit, here: www.reddit.com/r/ArtFundamenta…
And if you're interested in helping keep this project alive, consider donating through Patreon

Eventually I will add a homework submission feature to the website itself, but for now I have enough work on my plate.

Then

100 planes and elipses
100 boxes

Developing one's skills isn't necessarily fun. It can lead to fun, once you get a handle on your fundamentals, but I'm not going to lie to you and say that doing these tedious exercises is going to be enjoyable. Ultimately it's up to you to decide - are you willing to put time and effort now into sorting your basics out? A lot of people draw just for the fun of it, and aren't interested in improving - and that's totally fine. But if you do want to improve, there is hard work involved.

I wish to have enough patience and concentration to do hard work...
