Description
Just thought i'd put my rail tickets on here.1.Day ranger which allows unlimited travel on Greater manchester trains and buses.
2. A two part return ticket from blackrod in bolton to Preston.
This is the cheapest way to travel in the UK, the more tickets you have the cheaper it is

I may put my methods of travel online anytime soon, if I get a scanner up and running. Although because I have a privalege pass for the railways, a straight ticket from Man Vic to St Helens Central which should cost around £6 - £7 return, only costs me at present £2.75 return. Hell, with a priv pass, I can get from London to Manchester return first class for £90...

Whats a privilege pass and where do I get one ?
I can get from London to Manchester for £6 as long as I book 3 months in advance.

The catch with a priv pass is that you have to be related to someone who works on the railways or has connections with the railway industry directly, you also have to be under 25 and earn less than £x per month. My dad used to be a guard on British Rail, and still is connected with the railway industry, so he get's these passes. They are limited however, say you did travel first class from Manchester - London, technically you wouldn't be entitled to the extra trimming s you get in first class such as the free food, drink and other stuff, just a newspaper and a comfy seat. But thanks to lackadaisical Virgin staff, I got it all. Just don't tell anyone...

lackadaisical staff is right I have never been asked for my ticket on a virgin train.
I wonder how many people just don't bother buying one at the station and travel on virgin for free ?

The GMPTE Day Ranger zone ends at blackrod but its still cheaper getting three seperate tickets than buying an oldham to preston return.

No, i see your right and i see that i am just outside the area, since Euxton is one stop north of the Wigan North Western. And i can see why Appley Bridge is cheap to get to, as a couple of months ago i got a train at Piccadilly to Appley Bridge (i only want a single) and it cost me £1.60 return, even though from Euxton to Wigan which is a 10 minutes journey (compared to a 40 minutes journey from Picc to appley) it would cost me £4.60 return.

Yes they seem to just add £3 for exiting the zone with no explaination. It's not like they have to pay border taxes
