excellent work, the intricate shadow and wrinkles are impressive,
as is the very realistic reflection in the eye, well done

I like how detailed your comments are. Thank you for that. Most comments here on DA are just very short and unpersonal

your welcome! You have pretty good proportions in your work!!!...and I really like that Orlando Bloom one.. its really hard to show one's "soul" .... I recently painted a close friend and realized just how much of yourself you have to give in order to make a face come alive

incredible! how did you get the shading and blending so perfect?
π: 0 β©: 1
IsabelleMaria In reply to inkandcharcoal [2015-07-04 14:16:20 +0000 UTC]
I used really hard pencils at first and made very small motions with it to create the blending. Then I worked myself to smoother pencils to get darker and darker

do you use electric erasers or blending stumps?

IsabelleMaria In reply to inkandcharcoal [2015-07-04 14:21:23 +0000 UTC]
No, I never use erasers, nor do I blend with tissues or blending stumps. My very first art teacher in school (who was a real portrait master) told me to not ever use those tools and I never did from that point on
I think blending gives drawings a somewhat 'dirty' look sometimes that can be corrected afterwards. That is why I never erase or blend like that

....
beautifull mind You have on the process for sure..
i believe You can already work naw to figure out what accents and contrasts as Your own personal and unique way on the base you have there. When you get to a certain level and result you should spe on a other level for yourself.. You know already how to restitute a strong base...so naw you should work on your own signature as a second layer of the all content.. to a certain point the result of what you have from the pictures you work from give you opportunity to build on something is not on the photography but become your own additional aspect and sensation of perception and meaning ...then the subject matter become more relevant then the technical aspect wich is there in your case.. so your own experience of perception and understanding life form plus your own textural and physical interpretation on a realistical process will be for sure extremely inreresting and relevant at the end.
