Something ELSE.
I won't follow this style for the real thing. Just wanted to get the theme going because...well...just because I wanted to. -__-

Rahti is like this because she just is, but perhaps she might find her "Nhoor" in the end.

Nhoor or "Noor" is an arabic term meaning, the feeling one gets when they see things clearly and without gloom. A form of peacefullness.

The 'plants' aren't really there, and no one really needs to see the 'text'.
...
yes.

It satisfies something else inside of me. So it is here.

Well here's ONE arab-related artwork that doesn't involve terrorism. I'm relieved of that!! I like the direction your going with this and the clothes resemble that of old-times arab. Nice job.

Well, maybe she was meant to produce a certain type of plant, or a certain type of height...or perhaps her growth is a key aspect. Perhaps the bloom will not be as bright without the struggle involved?

"The bloom will not be as bright without the struggle involved"
...thank you for that, that is a good idea.

Thanks!

i love this style you're using in this piece. it's so simple. she reminds me of...whay are those dolls that stack into eachother? You open one up and a smaller one is inside. She reminds me of that.

I love this. And the style seriously reminds me of a more detailed version of the art in "Persepolis" by Marjane Satrapi. Have you ever read that?

random

I LOOVE "persepolis" and Marjane Satrapi's works, the 'story' I'm workin' on is also based on a fictional Arabesque/islamic/iranian world. X333

Let's see. You've got Avatar stuff - Chinese, Japanese, and a little Inuit; contemporary US and Japanese animation styles; and now, Arabic. Did I miss anything? Like I said earlier, wonderfully versatile.

Isaia In reply to shingworks [2006-01-16 17:48:32 +0000 UTC]

"magira 'aat"
another arabic word meaning 'worth' and/or 'ability/use' for something meaningful.
...
I think.
