Prince Naveen from Disney's "Princess and the Frog" Royal Family Tree.
LOLOL Besides arguing how NOTblack!!!1 Naveen is, people also argue about what the heck kind of fictional country Maldonia really is, if he's SpanishPortugueseBrazilian something (based on his accent) or ArabicIndianMorrocoAlgerian something (based on his facial features and name). LOLHAY HOW ABOUT HE'S ALL THESE BEAUTIFUL THINGS, GUISE? :3

Not to mention he's a great character with an actual personality yayyyy
Even if it's haphazard, it has some interesting potential for backstory.

Mme Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont version of the fairytale (which Disney used primarily as the basis of film) was set in France. With all the French names and language, growing up I thought Prince Adam was a prince of some French principality. And in Hunchback of Notre Dame Belle and the villagers are shown early in the film.

As for the country of Maldonia, according to IMDb it is supposed to be in the Mediterranean and the name is supposed to be a combination of Malta and Macedonia.

I am not sure how this would be a spoiler alert other than showing he has a brother and, thereby, stepping on a joke that happens at the end of the movie.

If Naveen were black and an African prince, NO WAY would a relationship with Charlotte have been possible.
While neither she or 'Big Daddy' possessed the commonplace attitude's at the time in the South, plenty others DID.

The movie wasn't even correct with the relationships between black and white characters. *SPOILER* There would have been no way that whites would have been at the restaurant that Tiana worked at. But hey, who really cares about ethnicity anymore?

I've been theorizing all over the place about Maldonia, I swear - I have the feeling that it's a LOT like Malta ( [link] ), except for while the French occupied Maldonia for a lot longer...at least from Napoleon's reign until they broke. Then Naveen's Great-Grandfather became something of a King to the people, and YEAH? They could have been originally from Spain via Malta/ The Knights of Malta...and eventually Naveen's dad married the daughter of an Indian/Middle Eastern trade partner and YEAH...
