...I was in an odd mood when I started making this (post viewage of Lake Laogai) and in an even ODDER mood when I completed it.
Technically, there are things I'm happy with, things I'm unhappy with...but that's another story.
My coloring/paneling/text/dialogue is teh uwa in ways,...but I felt the impulse to release this before the feeling of it hitting me would disappear or before I became far too busy and distracted to remember again.
Personally, even thoug it is just fanart of Jet from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and YES some people could care less of what happened with him in the ep (and maybe even going "Poo, good riddance > O ) ...
and that perhaps, he may very well may not stay in this sorry state, as such resulting canon would come to bite me in the blubber later. D: and that really....I have no real idea of what's really going to happen to the character in the show for real. and, being a canon character, there's always this awkward worry that I didn't do justice to him, portraying him in this.
Just really wanted to make this, not just out of connection to the character/s...or feeling the rush after watchng the ep.. using him almost as a vessel for expressing but..out of personal emotions as well... though it's choppy lookin in places...it became more than just a fancomic for me.
of knowing and questioning the feeling of if...whatever anything we do has a '
urpose', if that purpose is true, how some of us lead ways of simply following feelings and loyalties to people we are unsure of whether or not they will see the worth of that purpose towards them...to the very end...how in questioning such...just seeing it ...for what it is...whether it is a purpose that some people view as silly/pointless/stupid/selfish ... but seeing it in the end...why we just...do what we do and hoping that it has some worth or even at least...that even the weakest, or vain attempt to help someone....has some positive effect on others outside ourselves...the beauty in that. To hope that nothing is ever pointless. I'm not sure what I'm tryin to say..I feel kinda dumb now for sayin all that... .. : /

EDIT: 3/22/07 In an article regarding an interview with Mike and Bryan, they stated that Long Feng "Brainwashes Jet and eventually.. Kills him"

This is so beautiful, so amazing.
I remember looking at this long before I got a deviant account, so I'm glad I can finally express my words on how much I love it.
You know, beforehand, I never had much feeling for Jet. There was no hatred, no, no, never---I found him extremely interesting, and loved the way they began to develop him in Ba Sing Se, but I never had any sort of extreme emotional attachment to him, like with Zuko.
And yet, when he died---well, it was so unclear that for a long time I didn't know whether to believe he was dead or not---I was fairly sad, because he had so recently discovered that he was misguided and was finally following the right path.
But this piece totally made me respect and appreciate his character so much more. I feel you really, really hit home on him here. All his anger, bitterness, resentment, they all give away to the sort of memories you have crafted here. His innermost core, his desire to fight for whats right, to protect.
Seeing this, his dream...how he lost his way...when I first saw it, I was left with this chill and breathlessness. It was amazing. The emotion in this piece is so thick you can FEEL it, SEE it. I think you had an excellent grasp on his character. You totally made me appreciate him more!
Uh...sorry if I rambled on a bit. o.O
I have this tendency to rant on and on about feeling and characters whenever I see something that really excites me.
Of course, the artwork in here is divine. There is so much talent and beauty in every image.
I left this piece surreal, almost wanting to cry. I made my sister look at it too, it was so good!

Just like how Yue didn't Technically die, she just "became" the moon spirit, and how they don't show Zhao dying, and how they show no death in the episode "Zuko Alone"... Where am I going with all of this? Well, it's because it's on Nick and it's meant for ages 7-11. Which basically means it's suppose to be Spongebob happy.

Anyways, when I saw that episode, I thought it was really great how Smellerbee and Longshot stayed behind. Such loyalty! But the thing is.. if Jet died... then they also probably died...
Isaia, you are incredible. You're not stupid, you're the farthest thing from being an idiot. If anyone says that you're making a dig deal out of nothing (and means it) then they are blind. They cannot see that your work, your feelings have pretty much made you a great modern philospher.

This comic fits the characters so well. It would have made a perfect final speech for Jet. If they ever make a "too much for little kiddies to handle" version for DVD (REALLY doubtful as it might be), I'd love to see something like this for Jet's death scene.

You probably already know this but it was written somewhere (I can't remember where) that Longshot was supposed to end Jet's suffering by shooting him with one of his arrows...

This is fricking awsome, I don't know what to say. Jet can't be dead, he just can't!How can Jet be dead? I mean in the episode "Zuko alone" Zuko get's hit the same way, by that "soldier" and he's still alive. Not that that's a good thing at the moment but still. If Zuko lived threw it, with barely a scratch why didn't Jet? I wonder if the creators even realize they did the same thing to Jet that they did to Zuko. I don't think they did, or Jet wouldn't be dead.
