Description (repostin something I made a while back while I wait for photoshop in other computer to work so I can finish commishes b4 weekend.)

'I drew this in mind when I read an article some weeks back (which I want to find again, but I cannot find it???) I read about one woman who took her youngest daughter to see "Princess and the Frog" . Seeing her little girl make OMG!ENCHANTED!FACE and thinking the new generation gets to have Tiana while her generation did not.
This thought made her bawww in the theater.

I also bawwww while thinking of this.

It's sad but happy at the same time.
It's kind of like when I first saw "Mulan" the first time as a little girl. I was personally moved.

...

Because all the "issues" and some flaws of this film aside, I felt the movie and Tiana were made with sincerity and love, not just something to be marketed, which is important when bringing to life a story you want to move people with.

Princess and the Frog and Tiana (c) Disney
Fanart by me (because I love this movie FFFF)

EDIT: Guys, you are seriously going to make me BAWWW (aside from all the wapanese trolling on the front comments lol) even more with all these lovely stories you're telling me about your Disney memories. If only Disney knew how much good stuff like this is what lasts with their audience ;___;

Once again, you make work that has real emotion in it, something you can feel. I felt the same way when I saw this movie. I still love it. I think Tiana is a great addition to the Disney Princesses. Not to mention I love Prince Naveen X3

Beautiful! Mulan also deeply inspired me as a kid. I mean, she kicked butt AND got the hot guy in the end! And it did feel good to have a Disney princess idol who looked like me at the time.
The Princess and the Frog was wonderfully made and the story was unexpected in some areas. I fully enjoyed it and can't wait for the DVD release!

I love Tiana so much. Due to interracial marriages in my family (which is why I hate all people who bash Naveen for not being Black) I was given the cutest little girl in the entire world to have as a first cousin, once removed. The fact that little adorable four year-old Isabelle gets to grow up with a princess she admires that looks like her AND supports interracial marriages makes me so incredibly happy with Disney.

I have yet to see this movie since I plan on seeing it when my sister-in-law comes to visit me but I've heard all nice things.

This picture is relatable to me because of the fact I heard about my niece going. She came into the world as animation was dying out and to hear her reaction to the beauty of it all made me so happy to know. I grew up loving animation only to lament it's loss.

To have it return in such a spectacular way will probably have me making the enchanted face all over again as well. XD

Out of all the princesses (since your comments like to talk about whom they relate to most) I'd have to say Belle is the one I identify with. She dreams of something more in life, relishes the small things, and cares for more than just looks.

Anything made by John Lassiter has to be made with sincerity in mind. Otherwise the movies wouldn't do as well.

beautiful peice of work, i felt like this for mulan too, not because of her ethnicity so much (i'm hispanic the closest to a princess we have is kuzco) because she represents strenth and bravery when it wasnt expected or wanted of a woman to be so.
i loved princess and the frog for a similar reason, tiana rock XD

YES that is exactly what I feel It's amazing how this movie really is magical, it affects people so much more deeply than any solely "marketable" movies, because of everyone's fond memories of watching Disney when they were little and just all the connections people have to these things. it's so amazing that disney's finally coming back to that...

Things like this make me glad Disney are going back to their roots and moving back away from easier created movies. Going back to hand-drawn stuff again just contains more charm and magic, while remaining still enjoyable to whole audiences.

Newer effects just seem to cheapen the story somehow, you just didn't see that magical flare.

Even though the vast majority of Disney's leading females are white, I think I can still relate to the little girl's feeling in this picture. For me it was Belle--a leading female who proved to me that even the more quiet girls who don't talk to many people and who spend half their time reading could be princesses too. Disney's finally bringing this feeling to a wide part of their demographic that they were missing, and for that I'm grateful. Every little girl should be allowed that feeling of 'maybe, just maybe, I can be that wonderful.'

All girls are princesses.

You captured the movie style BEAUTIFULLY--I've seen it twice already and aiming for a third go, if I can snag the money this month. Tell me, why hasn't Disney hired you?

Man, that's so touching. I'm hispanic, but it was so amazing to see Tiana - not just because of her racial background, but also her own story and work ethic. Not many Disney heroines are hard-working/adventurous/spunky, and the ones that are, well, I like.

I remember when Pocahontas came out, I was fascinated by her and her outgoing self, and as I got older I liked how she chose her own path despite tensions between her people and the settlers. Tiana's hard-working idea of achieving dreams made me feel the same way when I saw her movie. It's really refreshing to see such characters on screen.

Anyway, I'm rambling now, so I'll leave you with a comment about the actual picture - I simply love the way you captured everything. Simply beautiful.

I'm glad to see someone who adores this movie as much as I do!

I just returned from Disneyland where I purchased a $136 original sketch of Tiana and Naveen (*sob* $136! But every bit of it was worth it! It was actually worth $167 but thanks to my Premium Pass discount I got it for cheaper, not that I wouldn't have paid the full price.)

I also stood in line to "meet" Tiana and Naveen at D-land twice but the line was so long I missed getting my picture with them both times! Oh well, NEXT TIME!

I'm such a sucker for this movie.
