Description (repostin something I made a while back while I wait for photoshop in other computer to work so I can finish commishes b4 weekend.)

'I drew this in mind when I read an article some weeks back (which I want to find again, but I cannot find it???) I read about one woman who took her youngest daughter to see "Princess and the Frog" . Seeing her little girl make OMG!ENCHANTED!FACE and thinking the new generation gets to have Tiana while her generation did not.
This thought made her bawww in the theater.

I also bawwww while thinking of this.

It's sad but happy at the same time.
It's kind of like when I first saw "Mulan" the first time as a little girl. I was personally moved.

...

Because all the "issues" and some flaws of this film aside, I felt the movie and Tiana were made with sincerity and love, not just something to be marketed, which is important when bringing to life a story you want to move people with.

Princess and the Frog and Tiana (c) Disney
Fanart by me (because I love this movie FFFF)

EDIT: Guys, you are seriously going to make me BAWWW (aside from all the wapanese trolling on the front comments lol) even more with all these lovely stories you're telling me about your Disney memories. If only Disney knew how much good stuff like this is what lasts with their audience ;___;

Awww, this is so cute I was even like this watching the movie...although I'm way older than this little girl XD I think it's great that Disney introduced a Tiana, she's a phenomenal character. My little cousin absolutely loves her ^-^ In fact, she kinda looks like the little girl here (but without the glasses).

But this pic reminds me of how I felt watching it. I just felt that little kid in me (glasses and all ) Looking up at the screen and enchanted by what I saw.

I completely agree with your feelings, and I think what made me the happiest with this movie was that it was true Disney magic again, something that this newer, younger generation sadly hasn't really seen much of. But now if Disney follows along this path, I have hopes for a bright future where children can again be inspired by their beautiful masterpieces. ^__^

I personally enjoyed the movie, not just because Disney finally created a black Princess. But because, it made me fall back in love with Disney films. I grew up watching the old Disney Classics like Robin Hood and The Little Mermaid. My heart jumped when I saw they were going back to the animation style they did with this.

It really made me relive my youth, even though I'm not that old

And I think its great that Disney did this version of animation for this Generation. Because most kids of these days are only seeing the Pixar related stuff to the Disney Channel Kids Pop characters and thinking that's what they need to image themselves after.

This movie homes back on the original ideals of what Disney was.

And a beautiful drawing amongst all my rambling

I definitely agree! It was such a beautiful and wonderful movie and I'm super glad that kids can experience real Disney magic and that those of us who grew up with it can see it come alive again.

This movie brought me back to my childhood, and I magically turned into one of the biggest saps in the room! XD
It was a beautiful story, and I was very proud to still have Disney princesses around my room!

loooovely!!

i kinda felt that way too when a saw the princess and the frog x3...

my generation had ariel, belle, jasmine, mulan, etc (and the other older carachters), but, even nowadays, with 21, i feel just like that girl watching the princess and the frog or the others i mentioned...

awesome work!!

This is so sweet. I am appalled at the few black people who have complained about the cultural inaccuracies of the movie, and who refuse to take their children to see it (which is total bs, its' very culturally accurate, right down to the lack of racism -- New Orleans was full of free people of color since the 1800s). This picture and the article it was based on (even though I have not read it), make me happy, because I love this movie, and I think EVERYONE should see it, especailly little black girls. That, and this is just really well-done. THat little girl in the pic looks like me when I was little, lol.

Thats so nice. I never had the experience with Mulan, but I grew up with the Disney princess movies, but I never really liked or cared for any of them. I'm 19 now and when I saw Princess and the Frog it really made revert back to my old child ways. I finally found a Princess I wanted to be or look up too. She also became my favorite. I think its never too late to adore disney movies and fall in love with the characters.

I don't know, maybe it's a preference thing, but I personally didn't feel it sucked.

While watching it, I felt the team tried their hardest to bring their A game into it.
Story wise, there were some things that definitely could have been done better but I felt they built it together really well art and all.

I felt like that while watching the movie and I'm 25! The heart of the movie is extremely sweet. It reminded me of how I felt seeing Beauty and the Beast and going, "There's a book reading girl that looks vaguely like me! *girlish squeal*" Then when I was older it was, "Mulan does Kung Fu and feels out of place like I do! *older girlish squeal*"

Extremely cute picture. I it. And ridiculously happy with the Princess and the Frog.

What an interesting article too, thats lovely I dont think it just means something to african-american girls either, its been a while since weve had a good old fashioned film about reaching your dreams, everything has to be dark and depressing nowadays! Its nice that kids can have a film that makes them feel happy/hopeful

Omg, this is absolutely adorable! I love their expressions, they just say more than a thousand words! I think this truly captures the charm and wonder that many of us get when watching our Disney movies. But I think what I most like about this picture is the emotions that it gave to people. I read all the comments posted here (which I usually never do) and it gave me a fuzzy feeling inside hearing all these people expressing their love for Disney and their movies, especially of course The Princess and the Frog.
Personally, Tiana is my second favorite princess, right behind Belle. Both are smart, strong and independent, but because I have liked the bookworm Belle since I was a little girl and always felt this connection, she has a special place in my heart. I think Tiana is more like the grownup me. But I love them all and you really have captured the feeling this movie has given to many of us, even bis girls.

and I went to see it the first Monday it was in theatres. A little girl and her father were the only ones with us (since it was a Monday). She was absolutely adorable. She was so excited before the movie, just watching the ads and scene its had her jumping in her seat.

Then the movie started and she was super silent. I was excited about Keith David VAing and made little noises whenenver he was on screen and just about died when he sang. I cried some too. Especially at the beginning and Ray.

And then it was over and we heard was "Daddy Daddy I can be a princess too!!" I've never seen such a happy little girl. Disney really did something right with this movie.

this is one of my favorite pictures ever here on deviantart. it shows perfectly an impact something like a disney movie can really have on someone, especially a child. and it's beautifully drawn. i saw it again the other night and the second it was over a little girl behind shouted, "i wanna see it again!" and everybody laughed. i had to laugh too because i thought the same thing as her. really nice work.
