The sword carried at Faelon's back is Nyacelil's, a sentient longsword named "Descending Silver" that is shown when first discovered in "Finally Found" and that Nyacelil carries in other works including "Retrained Bladesinger" and "The Book".  Descending Silver is a family heirloom for Nyacelil, and its sentience comes from the spirit of one of her ancestors, a heroine in her own time who made the sacrifice to be so bound in order to carry on the fight against evils she had in life.  Until this time, only Nyacelil had carried the sword, by insistence of Descending Silver itself, but necessity now has deemed otherwise.  Faelon carries it as Nyacelil's most important possession, though he cannot wield it himself.

Faelon's own sword is somewhat lighter, befitting the swift lightfighter that he is.  While significantly enchanted, it is not the exceptionally rare weapon that Descending Silver is.
