I've been on quite the Legend of the Five Rings spriting kick. In fact, my number of finished unique L5R single sprites is up to 183....

Here is a list of sprites I've made for the use of printing and using as game tokens while running my games. I thought it would be neat to have a pool of generic school tokens for combat. Hence the lack of courtier sprites. From left to right are the Crab Clan, the Crane Clan, the Dragon Clan, the Lion Clan, the Mantis Clan, the Phoenix Clan, the Scorpion Clan, the Spider Clan, and the Unicorn Clan, followed by the Imperial Families, the Owl Clan (from the alternate setting, the Togashi Dynasty as outlined in the Imperial Histories II sourcebook) and the Bear Clan (a gag clan my rpg group created that has become a favorite of ours).

As this is intended for my playing group some of the depictions go a bit wide of their original intents (the Kaiu Engineer for example has an arquebus). I chose the schools I did because of their "iconic" nature. In some cases, because of my obsessive need for symmetry, I had to dip into advanced schools or paths rather than rely solely on basic schools. In other cases I pulled on schools from much older editions of L5R and have adapted them. In the case of the Bear, only the Ichiro Bushi and the Kitsune Shugenja (the Fox joined the Bear in our campaign setting) are actual schools, the rest are custom ones borrowing from other sources (the Kuma Barbarian for example uses the Free Ogre school...).

The schools are as follows:

Crab: Ashigaru, Hida Bushi, Kuni Shugenja, Hiruma Scout, Kaiu Engineer, Kuni Witch Hunter, Hida Berserker
Crane: Ashigaru, Kakita Duelist, Asahina Shugenja, Daidoji Harrier, Daidoji Iron Warrior, Doji Magistrate, Daidoji Yojimbo
Dragon: Ashigaru, Mirumoto Bushi, Tamori Shugenja, Tattooed Monk, Kitsuki Investigator, Mirumoto Taoist Swordsman, Tamori Alchemist
