congratulation upon your completion. (i know i am sooo late in coming back )
the train/couple/singles haiku just makes me laugh. very apt observation.
women with branded shoes are silly but again, this is good satire done on those people who did not buy things for its actual purpose.
the NE monsoon one is sad.
all in all, your haiku/senryu has a very distinctive style of humor and satirical appeal. they are good stuff.

A late reply is just as good, especially if it's well thought out.
Happy that you said my style is satirical, that's what I was shooting for.

Nice selection so far mate, and I've not seen political haiku before
I particularly like the 12th, and the differences and similarities between the 14th and 15th.

Thanks, election happening only once in 4 years, it seems a shame not to include them
Days 3 and 4 are linked too.

I really like this! It's a different for of writing, I ought to try it some day. And I love the wa you build such vivid images.
(seeing as I've never learned anything about Japaneses writings, I wikied/googled haikus. Found out some pretty interesting things - namely that in Japan the metric is counted, like in Portugal, by sounds instead of syllables. I'm just still a bit uncomfortable with writing poetry in English...this looks like good practice.)

Thanks. Good to know that this got you interested in reading up on haiku.
Measuring by syllables has always been kind of a weird concept to me, but since I write in English, I assume we follow English rules of counting by syllables.
Perhaps you should try writing a few in Portuguese and see how it sounds.

Ohh, voting day. I automatically thought Valentine's Day when I saw V-Day.
This one seems to include more cultural things than weather things. It's cool.

Thanks, I thought it'd be boring not to take advantage of the differences in culture.

Anywhere with smoke grosses me out! And love the one on the 8th, you play with words so well that I usually sit there and read it 6 times with a different meaning each time.

Unlike food, it's frown upon not to play with your words
...but seriously, I was waiting more than 8 days to post the 8th one, since it wouldn't make sense being up any earlier than the actual voting day.

Since my residential area is near factories () I think rains smells lovely. The air feels positively charged before there's rain and when it's a heavy downpour the air smells clean, unlike the smokey bullshit factory smog.
So by odd, do you mean nice? I warn you, I'm a rain fan boy D:<

I got knocked off from the third! OH NOES! Love the image of the weeds and people leaning together, it's almost like...they're both eagerly waiting, one for a season, one for a train, and they stand (lean?) united in their waiting!
This sounds like such an awesome project, I might see if I can find time tonight and work up 3 haikus to catch up. Haven't written one for 2 years now, Im so ashamed to admit, but 31 haikus should totally make up for it!
Can't wait for the 4th! Keep up the awesome work, I will be watching closely (and the pressure mounts dun dun dun xD)
