I KNOW I'll never get OTOSOS published. I KNOW my fanfics are just that, fan spawned nonsense, but I LIKE what I write. It makes me happy writing it, and happy when people read and enjoy it.It's not a waste of my time as long as it makes me happy.

Oh my gosh this is perfect!! I wish I could put this on my WattPad because I don't want anybody on my tail about what I've written. Because I love what I write. I love what I roleplay with my best friend. I love being who I am. I love writing stories. Sometimes I get writers block, but it always goes away. I write and I write, and sometimes I don't publish things, but I pour my feelings and my passion into what I write. My ideas, my headcanons. I play and I write and in my writings I fly. I fly away and above trees and around, and sometimes I feel like I was this person in another life because I feel most comfortable with my belt-attachable tail on me, even out in public and I feel my wings moving and I feel the air whistling past my face. Because god dammit this is WHO I AM. I feel my roleplay. I wish I could fly away and high and far from all that is happening down below because I am sick and tired of society shunning people for who they are. I want to hold my girlfriend's hand while wearing my fake tail WITHOUT being called a furry faggot. But I can't. Not everywhere. So I wait and I wait for humanity to fix itself while my mind keeps trying to fly me away from all this hatred and unacceptance and I feel like people are missing the point of life. The point of life is not to pay bills or become rich or to work yourself out of your mind. It is not to hurt or to kill or to put down anyone. Life is for enjoying. The point of life is to love. It is to enjoy yourself. Love yourself, love others, and have fun.

Well, I can't say I HATE fan fiction because you have the entertaining stupidity like My Immortal and then you have people who are good writers but should come up with their own ideas. Then, on the other hand, you have plain stupidity and no-talents.

I'm in the middle of TWO fan-fics right now. Isn't there a saying somewhere that one story is someone else's story told differently, or something to that effect? I think it's awesome that one can be inspired by someone else's work to create their own!

Simple, to the point, true. I love it. ♥ It certainly speaks wonders, really. I hate it when people think fanfic writing is a waste of time, talent and/or space. I mean, it's creative writing nonetheless. I write because I like to write, and I write what I like. I've never had any bad experiences, but I know people who did.
And, and, and, and... Sometimes fanfics are better than the actual stuff. XD And they're great for letting you express yourself.

Very, very true. I've been a fanfic writer for maybe six years now, and I write because I LIKE to. If people like them, then that's a bonus, but that's not why I write.
I'm told that I'm wasting my time... but I tell the people who say such things that they're wasting THEIR time by watching those soap operas on TV and hanging out on Facebook all the time.

I write a lot of fanfiction, too. I never post it because I don't want to feel like I have an obligation to edit or polish or even finish it; I write it purely for fun, and so I don't lose my edge when I'm in between original stories. But I wholly support your stamp.

This virtually defines my opinion about half of my negative experience on dA, the other half being people saying fanart isn't art. I haven't been tackled personally (yet), thank goodness, but I've seen it happen to other people and given that I've usually had a certain preference to fanfiction than most other categories (idea-wise, ATM you'll find a lot more art in my account, but my fanfiction takes longer than the rest of my art in any case), it's probably going to happen at least once eventually.
But really, I write fanfiction because I LIKE my stories. I LIKE the ideas I come up with. Hell, I like reading what I write. Yes, the fact that other people will read it does have an effect on how I view it, but it's not the defining reason that I write fanfiction. If I didn't like what I was writing, then I would not set pencil to paper. Period.
I don't care if I'm "wasting my time." It's all for fun anyway.

What's the point of writing it if other people don't enjoy it? Sure fanfics are meant to be for fun, but most people write them to be creative, and for other people to enjoy their works. It's sort of pointless if you enjoy it, but others don't. =\

Not actually true really. Most people, like myself love to write fan fictions as we can write our own things happen in such a franchise and other things. not only that but it is an oppurtunity for people to post it up and if they enjoy it, then it is good for them. But if by picking up a few fans on the way is an extra bonus, then that is epic. Because one wirtes fan fictions, it is mainly because the writer enjoys it, doesnt mean it has to be popular. XD
