Lovely manga by the way (so far). ^^
Change the word 'yaro' to either 'kusoyaro' or 'teme'. ^^

'Teme' is a real rough translation of the word bastard. It literally means 'you' but as an insult.
'Kusoyaro' however is the official word for bastard. Alternatively you could use 'bakayaro'. 'Kuso = shit' and 'baka = stupid' so either way it is an insult.

I saw some discussion below about this and decided to join. xDDD

The girl looks like Melphina from Outlaw Star.

But other than that little tid-bit, very awesome! Look forward to reading more! And... since I'm a late reader, you probably gots bunches more chapters right?

Good for me!

I always thought "teme", meant bastard!
(or timmy, lol did you ever notice, whenever they grumble "teme", it sounds like that timmy dude from southpark)

Just some criticism on your choice of wording, I dunno about anyone else but it's kind of annoying when you mix in pointless Japanese into an English doujinshi(or fanfic), but that might be just me. Anyways, looks good so far :]

it's a bit late for criticism on the wording I'm working on the tenth chapter so far and have heard enough about the whole English/japanese thing. you're gonna have to bare with the first chapter at least because it's got the most of that...it's toned down further on..with only a word here and there for learning purposes I guess It's hard not to add some japanese phrases..especially when they're used in the show so much.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tobimas In reply to IshimaruK21 [2008-09-03 03:18:56 +0000 UTC]

Well I guess. It is toned down now so it's smoother reading.

DemonicKunoichi [2007-12-18 03:35:13 +0000 UTC]

Err. . . . Yaro means "Do It".

But Baka Yaro means "Bastard"

And Teme is actually translated as "YOU!" but the translators thought that to be inappropriate so they wrote it down as "Bastard", which they found more fitting

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

LittleHercy In reply to DemonicKunoichi [2013-03-13 04:23:18 +0000 UTC]

Actually 'you' is translated to 'anata'. ._.
In English we don't really use 'you' as an insult like they do in japan so 'teme' may as well be a rough translation of the word 'bastard'.

The proper word for bastard is 'kusoyaro' isn't it?
Though 'kuso' being 'shit' and 'baka' being 'stupid' - either way its an insult..

Lol! no! Neechan is for (big sister) and even then she isn't really related to him, It's a polite term for girls who are older, and in this case he calls her that because she is like a big sister to him.

saxcomic In reply to IshimaruK21 [2007-02-06 01:27:22 +0000 UTC]

XD I'm likin' this so far!! *continues reading*
But...Yaro doesn't mean bastard. It means "Do It" <- NOT in a perverted way, just literally.
But, if you put Baka before the Yaro (Baka Yaro) then it means Bastard or something like that. I have a Japanese friend I learn Japanese from, so yeah...

Hello again. I like the first panel a whole lot; you've definitely got Naruto down as far as the art goes. You also have Iruka "down" in the character aspect. I can definitely see him rubbing his temple a few times, haha. Anyway, on to the constructive criticism. The girl has the lump again and Iruka has one of his own that's slightly visible. I'm starting to think that it might be the product of your outline style. If you haven't already (after all, this is only the first chapter, haha) you might consider fine tuning it a little bit to get rid of the lumps. But don't worry; it's a gradual process and really things look ok as they are.

'Arigatō' is how it is spelt. The 'ō' is the 'ou' but shortened and more correct grammar wise.

well..to argue that..Ive seen Arigato spelled the way I just wrote it..and Ive heard Naruto in the anime not only say Dattebayo... but tebayo on it's own as well ~ don't worry I did my reserch ^_~ but thanks for the notices
